well today i went to the EB Games web site, and i looked at the TransFormers games that i bought for $50 bucks a few months ago that now is just $26.00, but anyway, i started reading the feedback that people left from the game, and most of the feed back was good, thing that i agree on, but im not really posting to talk about the game, the point is that most of the negative feedback was from Transfans complaining about the fact that the game didn't have any G1 things, or how good the game could have been if instead of armada they would have made it G1 version, well i think that some transfans need ot get over themselves and think about what they are writing, first of all the game was based in armada cause Armada was the last show playing and the last line, second, we need to realize that Other than the names, and the fact that a figure might look G1 like, this lines are made for Kids, not for us fans, lil is the effort that they put on the fan stuff, so don't complaint when you see something like that, 3rd, we have lines for fans, as G1 reissues, or Aternators wich i prefer than G1 reissues, but I think we need to realize that there won't be ever another G1 show on tv as good as the old G1, and that's because of the fact that kids today are different, these are different times and they are targeting them, not us, i don't have nothing against G1, i liked the show, so far I wouldnt buy any G1 figures not even if they were free, cause i just don't like them, but hey that's my choice, im not telling anybody what to do, but we need to realize that right now lines are not just for fans, so we might not like what wee see coming.

I agree that too many reviewers (fans and nonfans) compared this unfairly to G1, leading to lesser scores than might otherwise have been attained had the title not had the TF license.

 

People have no problem over the changes made to some different frachises over the years (TMNT and GI Joe to a degree), but because the TF game doesn't have the same characters they remember, it isn't as good?

Those negative reviews could have been from people have not keeped up with transformers and hence only remember the G1 days....so I wouldnt get too mad at them.

 

I have quite a few friends like that....no big deal.

I have to agree with Bodycount on this one. Transformers Armada is one of the best games ever made. It is completely ridiculous to bash such a great game because it is not related to G1? That is not the right thing to do.

 

If you want a G1 game get the japanese version. If you did not like the game please leave it for us, the real fans a nd stop bashing it.

The Armada PS2 game is awesome. Hands down. Like others have already stated, it really shouldn't be bashed for not being G1. Personally, I would like to see a G1 Playstation game (not the japanese game) at some point in the same style as Armada, but if the future games are just as good as Armada was, I can't wait for the Energon (or Cybertron) game.

 

Also, kind of off topic (Bodycount pleez don't slam me for this!), but I would like to see a new G1 show in a time slot like Adult Swim or on the Sci-Fi channel, with a deeper plot and more in depth characterization than the original series had - A Transformers series that would appeal to the older fans and possibly appeal to those outside the fandom. I've read some fanfics and some of these people have great material that if given the chance could make this kind of show spectacular. Just an idea from someone who objectively appreciates just about every facet of Transformers.

I think it's harsh to judge the Transformers game on the fact that it's not G1. Not fair at all.

 

The game is awesome. The levels are huge, the action is great and the graphics are some of the best I've ever seen on the PS2.

 

There is some cool little unlockable stuff for G1 fans in there too. Which wasn't even needed, but they did it for us older fans anyway.

The reviews page isn't that bad...well, not as bad as I was expecting. Ranting G1 loonies are a part of the fandom(I know, I've been one). Some 'grow' out of it, and others prefer the blinders. Dosen't matter much to me either way...not my place to tell someone what and why to collect a toy line...as long as the favor is returned.

I haven't even played the game yet. I Suck! But it's good to hear that the price went down. now maybe I can afford it.
