What if I am both?

The person who doesn't think like me is the weird one....yeah, umm....yeah.

So, yeah, I guess MISB people are weird cause they don't play with the toys, however, they have a beter chance at proving they are collecting them for collector value than we do....Dammit, I just convinced myself that I'm the weird one :P

Hmm...I dunno. I can't really say who is weirder. I suppose MISB seems a bit dull because then you're just in it for the money and I can't see how just looking at an item in a box is very enjoyable, IMO. And "play" is a subjective term. Does that include transforming them and putting them in poses on display shelves, or is it more in the way of "now Megatron...you're going to pay! Ta-choo! Ta-choo!" Some people do that kind of thing to unwind and detach from the stress of the working world instead of drinking loads of alcohol or dosing up on loads of drugs (not that there's anything wrong with that, I do enjoy a strong drink every once in awhile.). Because honestly, if I ever had time to play with my TF's I probably would, but that silly thing called a job interferes with that, so I just pose and display them, occasionally transforming them when I feel the urge to do so.

I'd say add another option: "Neither, there are many people who are much, much weirder than this."

Here's the deal - I open my TF reissues when I get them, but it's not like I PLAY with them. I'll just put them on my shelf, maybe transform them one day and set them back on the shelf.

MISB, I find the notion kind of strange, unless you want to sell them later on. But otherwise, I don't think of a MISB toy as "untouched" - it didn't start out in that box, after all - it was put there.

But still, I voted that the people who actually played with them (like, in a sandbox or bathtup or whatever, like I did as a kid) are more weird!

I voted for playing with them. My dad (66+ years old) still brings up that (20 years ago) I trashed the boxes to my TFs. He wishes I had kept them and so do I.

im sorry but why buy somethign if you are just gonna leave it in the package? thats like buying a car and never driving it

I think buying something for it's intended purpose, when you are not the target audience (like an adult playing with toys), isn't all that odd.

Like a high school kid who buys beer to drink it. Or a guy getting the woman's deoderant because it's easier on his delicate skin? Whatever.

How much odder is the high school kid who collects unopened beer cans? Or the guy who collects all the various scents of Secret Invisable Roll-On?

You know the MOC/MIB thing is something

I once fell into. I had dozens of Star Wars ships, hundreds of Star Wars and Transformers all neat on/in their cards/boxes etc.

But you know, I have no plans of ever selling my collection. I bought this stuff because I love it, not to make a buck someday. You only live once, and you can't take this stuff with you.

So...

I decided to open everything! Bought shelves and got everything displayed.

The best thing I ever did. :thumb

I buy toys like a 20th ani Optimus for the mere reason that I often need something in my hands to fiddle with as I get bored way to quickly. So hence I vote for MISB to be weirder.
