Original Movie Question

Recommended Posts

I'm sure you've all anwered this question a dozen times over, but humor the noob.

In the original movie from '86, why do the Quintesson judges always say "Innocent" when they execute someone? This just never made any sense to me.

Thanks!

1. They're gonna kill you anyways, they're just having a little game while doing it...

2. They're evil, they wanna kill poeple labeled as "innocent"...

3. Seasons three hinted that they created all Transformers, so maybe they were doing that to punish their creations that rebelled.

Hinted It was flat out explained.

Their just nuts. Plain and simple. Hey, there motto is "All are guilty until proven innocent. even then they are guilty." Their Insane, There mad, they are unable To define reality from fiction, their Koocoo for Coaco puffs, how many more ways do I need to say it?

I wouldn't say that the Quintessons were crazy or anything; in fact, they seem to be more intelligent than either the Autobots or the Decepticons (at least, in that B-movie-style "evil genius who still gets outsmarted by the good guys" way).

My take (FWIW) on why they proclaimed them innocent before executing them: perhaps they were mocking what they saw as the Autobots' self-righteousness. (I'm thinking in particular of "Forever Is A Long Time Coming" here.) Just a little thought.

There was no logic to it. The Quints as someone previously mentioned, saw every poor sap regardless of what they said, as guilty. No one was innocent. As such, the whole “trial before the imperial magistrate, was a just put on for their amusement, no one had a prayer in hell of not being dumped into the Sharkitcon pit.

Also as Granax said in the film before his untimely demise, “Spare me this mockery of justice! Indeed the entire proceeding before the Quints was wrong and grossly unfair. They were the prosecution, the jury and the judge all rolled into one. The cruel Quints were cold sobitches that should’ve been stomped on by Grimlock and company, when they appeared, unfortunately the Quints narrowly escaped. Some bad guys do not get their due soon enough! However we all know the bad guys lose in TFs and the Autobots will win (even if the victory is a hallow one with many casualties).

I can't believe this needed explaining.

Thanks to all for answering my question.

Except MikePrime, who's a jerk.

*coughtheircrazycough*

If they're innocent, they are executed. If they are innocent, they are granted freedom... to the sharkticon pit :P

What's hard to explain?
