I've been noticing a number of people here on TFans are from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since I am and I partially run this site, I thought that it would be cool to set up a spot where locals could talk about toys, local shopping and ultimately work on setting up some regular swap meets where people can hook up to talk, buy, sell and trade Transformers stuff.

I am already working on setting up a swap meet in San Francisco. I would love to hear from all of you out there who can attend and/or help with promoting it. This would be an event open to everyone and with no charge. Super7 Magazine has graciously offered the use of their store in Japantown for such an event. I am also looking into getting us something extra that will make the event special, but I dont want to jinx it by talking about it just yet. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on an event like this so please dont hesitate to ask.

But hey, this area is not just for organizing events. Its about being a Transformers fan in the Bay Area so post whatever you want about local shops, sightings, local toy shows or whatever. This place is here just for us to enjoy!

Yo Jack! :wave Finally found this thread, but I think it would be also good to post a link in the Sightings section too.

As I said before it would be nice to plan a potential meeting if there are enough people. Just keep us posted. I know where J-town is in SF, just went to the Kabuki last night. Good idea, lets see if we can run with this and how many people are seriously interested. :thumb

Sounds very good. Hopefully enough people turn out we can have our own west-coast mini con.

Yea! This is not restricted to members on this board. We should try to promote this section and the event somehow to other local TF collectors. I am sure we can get the word out the Berkeley and other schools.

If you guys are on other boards, please make a post letting people know we have some going on for Bay Area TF fans to talk with each other.

I think this sounds like a fantastic idea. :thumb And Japantown sounds like a great place to meet.

I think there should be our own Sightings forum.

I'm in!

I think I can arrange to get some good toys if people are looking for them. Like say would you all be into Super Link Wing Sabers for about $40 or so?

I just got my Superlink Wing Saber - he's in the background in my new sig - but I'd buy the Japanese stuff from you if I could. :)

I think I can get a half dozen of them. I can get more if people really want them.
