I love these movies. Nothing to think about. Great quotes with other male co-workers.

I made the mistake of watching Epic Movie (They 'spoofed' Nacho Libre. :wtf). I swore then I would never again watch a movie by any of the writers from Scary Movie. What next, spoofing a Mel Brooks movie?

This film franchise should have called it quits after Scary Movie 3.

They're not related.

2 weeks later...

Actually, they kind of are. The Wayans brothers wrote the first two Scary Movies, then called it quits. What was left of the team more or less kept the franchise going, eventually spanning out into Date Movie, Epic Movie, and Meet the Spartans.

So more or less Scary Movies 3 and 4, as well as Date Movie, Epic Movie, and Meet the Spartans have been written by the same core team of writers. Scary Movie 3 was decent enough, but everything since then.... :tdown

DM, EM, and MTS were written by two guys who worked on Scary Movie 1 and none of the sequels.

And the production companies for the Scary Movie franchise aren't at all the companies that made DM, EM, and MTS...so, no, they're not related.
