Lego is awesome.

You can make a scene like 2 megazoids fighting in a city.

I am going to build a landscape scene from Cybertron and I needed a little help. Since this topic was already started I guess I'll ask it here. Is there a spray paint that will work good on Styrofoam?

If you want to make bases for toys, or whatever, do some research on forums and sites that deal with plastic models - specifically 1:35 scale military models - they'll be your best bet for a TF base, because it's all battlefield related.

Here's a good site: http://www.missing-lynx.com/

That'd be good for customizing ideas, too.

A real easy and cheap way to make a base is use a wooden picture frame. Take out the glass (well, you don't really need to, but I would) and replace it with wood, or even cardboard, for the base. If you want to make terrain, use styrofoam and shape it however you want.

Some paints will disolve styrofoam - I would stick to acrylics, because it's water-based and won't hurt it. I would brush it on, then use different colours on top of your base to mix it up a bit. Try "dry-brushing" - a technique where you take a brush, dip it in paint, brush off most of it on a piece of paper or something until it's almost dry - then lightly brush it on the surface. It will bring out highlights and will look awesome once you get the hang of it.

Oh, and some glues will dissolve the styrofoam too - white glue will do fine. Although once you get the acrylic paint on, it will basically protect the styrofoam against most of those things, as it's basically a plastic and will act like a protective layer.

Once you're done, you'll have yourself a nice base with a little frame around it, and will look very good. It might take a few tries to get it exacltly like you want, but it's so cheap to do it won't matter. Also, you can buy aftermarket items, like ruined buildings, plantlife, and figures, all sorts of things to stick on the base to jazz it up a bit.

Hope this helps!

I made a not bad Decepticon baze out of cardboard, but then my ****** brother Jhon and my sister jenny wasted it! They didn't even get in trouble!

my Unicron's head is a box

Oh wait, you mean, like a headquarters? I thought you meant a base for displaying your TFs in a scene or something.

Well, regardless, the above post will help. You could build a structure using sheets of plastic, available at hobby shops.

Off topic: You've got a brother and sister with names that start with "J"? I bet your name does too! Parents aren't very creative are they?

On topic: Sorry about your base...how big was it? I want to make mine in several section so I can take it apart.

Thanks for the info! I just need to find some "Cybertron" like colors in acrylics and get to work.

What I'd suggest doing is go to an art supply store - buy the stuff that's geared towards student artists - it's usually good quality stuff, and will be cheaper. Bear in mind that acrylic paint will probably be more expensive than you think, however.

Don't worry so much about the colours, as acrylic will mix. Be creative.

Also keep water around, and clean your brushes every now and then, even while you paint. You'll notice soon enough that acrylic dries very quickly.
