needless to say but as soon as I saw the location & dates were anounced, I clicked on the link for all the details.

its gonna be held this year in Cincinati OH at the Duke Energy Center. the offical designated hotel is across the street at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The cost is $135.00 a night. needless to say I've already booked my suite for the entire stay, which by the way is April 24-28 2008. the worst part for a compulsive collector like me is forcing myself to lay off the TFs & DC Direct figs (there like $15 a pop), & buckle down so i'll have loot for the bot!

ok, I need to make a confession at this point. I, the SUPREMEQUEEN.......................................have never been to BOTCON!

there, I've said it! & don't you judge me damn it. but seriosuly they say that this years botcon is gonna blow people away, that is gonna be like no other botcon ever seen.

so if any one who's been in the past can make some helpful hints as to what pit falls to look out for that would be helpful. & is there any way of finding out what types of exclusives are conna be offered ahead of time?

Not going this year. Went to BotCon 07 and had fun... but it's alot of money for just a few days of seeing virtually the same ol' stuff after awhile. And $135/night for a hotel is blasphemy in my books. It's just a bed, FFS. I think I'd rather just take my chances and go to the GenAd showing (were it local, but it's not).

hay blitz let me ask you advise about something. I know you said its real expensive & all staying at the offical hotel. but are the toys given out for staying at the offical hotel realy cool? like do they give out exclusives like "Games of Decpticons" & wicked cool stuff like that?

because if the only reason I'm willing to shell out for that hotel is for the hotel exclusives. I can always crash at a motel 8 or 6 or what ever the hell they call them selves.

07 the official hotel room perk was that each hotel had a special TF room key card, no toys, just a freak'n key card. Heck 07 I stayed ontop of a gentlemen's club for $50 a night and it was just one block over from the convention center, closer than any of the other official back up hotels.

Since I don't have a permanent job (well to say I have a permanent job but I am temporary which makes no sense) I cannot fathom even trying to budget for this thing.

there no way in hell I'm gonna fork out over $800 for a hotel room if all there gonna give out is a stinking "gumball machine" type gift. i'd rather do battle w/the motel roaches by night, & use my saveings to reak havok in the convention halls by day!

....Why should any of us show patronage to people who sell $10 repaints for $100?

Yeah, it's really sad how they're pricing everyone out of going to these things recently.
