I'd appreciate any criticisms/comments. I'm going to add a few details to each of them, but for the most part, they're done. I plan to do the rest of the team if/when I get more paint. Blackout/Swoop, Dropkick/Slag, Barricade/Snarl. Oh and I know I forgot the mudflaps.

Ok, Longarm as Grimlock is F-ing perfect. That looks awsome. Also I love the repaint of prime as Sludge, and it body works but the head needs to be different. What about switching heads with Rachet?

 

Anyway, that is a great idea, now they just need to release more trucks so you can finish out the dinobots. Great idea, and great execution, here is to hoping you get to finish the set.

Both modes look wicked cool, and the vehicle modes are particularly excellent. I'd suggest adding some gold detail to the robot modes to better call to mind the old Dinobot decos. :thumb

I'll second this. So refreshing, in fact, that it took me a couple seconds to realize Prime was not supposed to be Grimlock. It makes perfect sense that the larger truck would represent the Bronto character, and your Longarm, particularly the head, makes an excellent Grimlock, but I don't think many people would've thought to use those molds in that way.

 

Can I suggest a head swap on that Prime, though? I think Ironhide's may make an excellent substitute, and could really throw back to the G1 character well.

Grimlock's perfect, but you should use Voyager or FAB Ironhides head. :roll

Nice, but I wouldn't mind some more references to the Dinobots cosmetics-wise. Perhaps some decals with a dinosaur head on them? As it stand, these look awesome, but they also look like prototypes or heavily-battle-damaged-and-then-repaired-but-not-yet-painted-again.

 

More clues as to who these guys are would help a ton, it not that obvious with these repaints.

Swoop? Just a quickie. know he needs a face. So hard to find good faces these days.

 

 

 

 

Interesting. Good job with the detail work, but I'm kind of ambivalent about the gray topcoats - it looks like unfinished primer, at least to me. I'd go for a gunmetal or silver-y vehicle scheme, personally. They just don't look... finished, I guess. (I'd also do Grimlock's truck-bay parts, the raised riveted stuff, in a brass-like finish, so he gets the G1-style gold chest, and it adds a splash of color to the truck mode as well. Oh, and maybe some ww2 fighter-style "tiger teeth" on the front end, for that grimlock attitude. tow trucks around here, at least, always have some cool paint work.)

 

-hx, wow, that grey color is almost perfect for Bondo - it'd look awesome on a "under repairs" custom. Slap a coat of it on someone's quarter panels, etc...

I like how you did that photo trick to make Swoop look the size of a real jet compared to Sludge and Grimlock, but I doubt a jet is THAT big.

 

And a face for Swoop would be nice, but I don't know where you could find a good one, unfortunately. You might have to make one.
