Cleaning 20th Prime's belly

Recommended Posts

I just finished revamping my 20th Ann Prime, giving him a pair of tall stacks from A3U and cleaning off all his burn marks with a big pink eraser and some 50% rubbing alcohol. The finished product looks virtually identical to his Japanese counterpart... with the exception of that one big blast mark on his washerboard abs. The problem is this particular ink blotch is located over chromed plastic, and I have no idea how to remove the stains without also removing the chrome. I saw it done once by a member of these boards, but I don't know how he did it. I'm not really a kitbasher, but any professional advice would be highly appreciated.

I removed the stain from the chrome with q-tips and alcohol and the chrome stayed in place just fine. I have an old thread here somewhere with pics... but I'm too lazy and pressed for time to dig it up ATM.
