I was watching beast wars season 2 for the third time, dispite having it since March, And I notice when Megatron said he wanted the early humans destroyed in "Code of Hero"so they wouldn't interfear in the great war, there is one problem with his plan. Th eplan follows in order of events if he destroyed humans:

Megatron Destroys Early Humans

Humans are gone or evolve much later

No technology evolves by 1984

1984-Volcano erutps, Autobots and Decepticons awake, start Great War

No intelligent humans around to help

Voyager Space Craft not built

Golden disk not created

Megatron cannot record message on it to Cybertron

Megatron (BW) wont discover message, wont go to planet earth and help Megatron (G1)

See the problem?

That's true... and if BW Megatron never wanted the disc (because it wasn't made), then the Maximals wouldn't have chased them.

Time travel confuses too many things...

BW Megatron theorized that the Original Megatron would have won the great war without human interference, therefore he wouldn't have needed any help from the future. So the golden disk wouldn't have been necessary. Hell, if he(BW Megs) succeeded BW Megs might not have existed at all. This was the risk that BW Megs took with all of his later plans. He was willing to sacrifice himself, and the timeline, to insure that the decepticons would win in the future.

Ah, but without help from the future, the human race would live. I surmise that once BW Megs destroyed the human race, he and all the Predacons and Maximals would disappear from Earth, therefore resetting the whole timeline to what it was before. Which means the human race would begin, because no one would be there to wipe the humans out.

UNLESS G1 Megatron sent an army from the future to wipe the humans out once the altered timeline is established. If he didn't do that, then the whole thing would reset itself.

Or...*Head hurts*

As Kllrwlf stated earlier "Time travel confuses too many things..."

I don't think that Megatron cared. He was freakin' crazy. He was a robot that like to play with a rubber duckie in his bath, and robots really don't need to take baths. The bot was a loon. :tard

To say it best.

Austin: So, Basil, if I travel back to 1969 and I was frozen in 1967, I could go look at my frozen self. But, if I'm still frozen in 1967, how could I have been unthawed in the 90's and traveled back to the Sixties?

[goes cross-eyed]

Austin: Oh, no, I've gone cross-eyed.

Basil: I suggest you don't worry about those things and just enjoy yourself.

[to camera]

Basil: That goes for you all, too.

Austin: Yes.

If Megatron had destroyed early humans then we wouldn't have been around to invent transformers the cartoon and/or comic and therfore Megatron would've destroyed his own exsistance! AHHA! it makes sence!

Dufftrix makes a good point.

Any time you start getting to deep into wondering about the laws of time in a time travel story, things can get to be pretty technical rather than just allowing the story to be enjoyed.

But I am pretty curious about the final episodes of Beast Wars. Don't read on if you have not seen them.

In the original Transformers, the Decepticon ship that crashed on Earth (the Nemesis) was found by archeologists on land. (keep in mind that the base for season 1 &2 Decepticons was created from the ship that they built after crashing on Earth, not the one that they flew from Cybertron in)

But in Beast Wars, the Nemesis is found under water and ends up on land at the end of the episode.

So I take this to suggest that the timeline we knew in the G1 cartoon was the timeline as it had already been affected by the Beast Wars. If that is the case, then in the history before it, things would have probably happened much the same. So I don't think we can make assumptions about their rules of time anyway.

But even if we made assumptions, there are several theories and ideas that are accepted in other stories that could come into play. One of the easiest ones to use is the idea that a paradox is impossible by definition and that time has a way of fixing itself. I suppose we could go on and on about them, but I don't think it would prove anything since we could probably find as many theories to prove BW correct as we could to prove it incorrect.

And I hope that the Season 3 disk comes with the cut scenes. I know I've seen at least one and it would be nice to have it a little larger and on TV.

Ah, yes...the wonderfull world of time travel. This is exactly why I don't like time travel stories. When you start thinking about them, the entire story is redundant. You can't travel backwards in time to alter the timeline, because when you've altered it there's no reason to travel backwards wherefor you don't and the original timeline is restored. (It's called "the grandfather paradox".)

Since the covenant of Primus already mentioned the Beastwars and their outcome, the timeline as it should be is with the struggle on prehistoric Earth. Megatron's plans were doomed before he began. As one of tripredacus members already stated: "Megatron is brilliant, but a rogue", therefor I don't think BW-Megatron could care less about the impossibility of changing the past.
