Here's an idea I've been kicking about for redoing Energon Barricade as E-1: Hot Spot:

Since I missed my opportunity to track down a spare Barricade, though, the point is rather moot, but my plan would have been to get a cheap dollar store fire truck and add lights, reels, ladders, and water cannons to Barricade, redo the head, and paint the figure mostly light blue with the chest plate of course being red. His teammates would have been: Groove, which would be a repainted Ransack whose weapon has been modified with the guns and connector joint from a junker jet combiner; Blades, an obvious direct repaint of Stormcloud; Streetwise, a repaint of Kickback in police SWAT colors; and First Aid, a repainted Dustcloud with a custom shield/shell to cover his gun-arm and "jaws of life" in vehicle mode (admittedly, a somewhat elongated ambulance mode, but it might work to some extent). If anyone is actually able to try this custom (or if it's already been pulled off by a kitbasher), please let me know...

DOn't despair too much, a few KBs may still have them.

I picked up an Ener. Barricade a few weeks ago. much to my surprise!
