Blue Tracks is for REAL!

Recommended Posts

I'm totally against Prowl and Red alert being brothers, Universe non-withstanding.

Red alert should be whatever Side Swipe is. Prowl should be whatever Smokescreen and Streak are.

Imprezas are police cars in the U.K. (mostly white with orange and blue decals) and in Japan (identical to Prowl's old decal scheme). And in parts of California, budget issues have made it so that police can drive whatever car they own if they're willing to have it undergo inspection and possibly some modifications. You could have cops in California cruising around in Lotus Mark VII one-seaters, VW Bugs, Dodge Ram pickup trucks...

It's kinda similar to all those places in the U.S. that supply cops with ammunition but expect them to supply their own gun... And they don't care if it's a tommygun or P-38 or a elephant gun as long as the bullets being used are the right kind and the gun is registered.

As for a Viper being a fire chief's car... A fire chief can drive whatever vehicle they want and while your average fire chief probably doesn't make the kind of money to drive a Lambrogini or a Viper, there'd be nothing stopping one who did... And I don't want Red alert as a vintage Pinto!

I wouldn't mind Red alert as an SUV with the Armada version as precedent but, honestly, I'd rather save any SUV emergency vehicles for Autobot Ratchet.

Are you sure that UK Police cars are Imprezas? I'm not doubting you, its just that I have never really seen one. I'll look closer next time I see one.

Yep, Some Police cars in the UK are indeed Imprezas, there's a few Mitsubishi Evo Lancers as well.

I wont believe fully in a blue tracks until I see one in a box from a reputable source, but it would be cool allright.

The source appears to be "reputable" enough in that everything he offered to the fandom eventually got officially announced and released so far.

I'll get the le mans stickers made for blue tracks, and i'm getting both. As far as Redaleart and Prowl go i'd like to see them as Chevy Impala's

I agree with redrum, at least as far as Red alert is concerned. I mean, hello, people? Red alert as a Lamborghini was always stupid. It was stupid in 1985, but now it's 19 years later and we've all just accepted it. But it's still stupid. When I think of some fire chief-mobile, I don't think "exotic Italian sports car." I think "American-made boat." Which is why something like the Impala or the Caprice would be much more appropriate.

Of course, the only problem with that is that no one would *want* a Chevy Caprice Alternator (myself included). I think they should figure out a way to compromise here -- as we have all seen, there are plenty of available options for a Subaru Impreza cop car (though I'd prefer the Asian one over the UK one -- blecch), and it don't bother me if Prowl has Japanese characters on his doors (in fact, I kind of dig that). There's got to be something out there that would work as a fire chief's car *and* is also a halfway cool car as well.

Of course, we're also forgetting the fact that Red alert was a putz anyway. Screw 'im.

And the Alternators gods have already determined that Sideswipe's "twin" (i.e. remold) will be Sunstreaker anyway. Which is, of course, far more appropriate.
