I'd just like to mention that BW Megatron kicks everyone's ass twice.

BW megs was the best of the megs, and the only one who ever acheived his ambition (control of Cybertron)

Yeah -- I know this falls into the "hello and welcome to last week" category, but I've only just seen BW for the first time on DVD. At the end of Season 2, I was like, "holy crap!! he had a plan! And it was a good one! And he actually followed through with it!! And he didn't trust his success to some backstabbing usurper or an incompetent dumbass!!" The contrast with Gen 1 Megatron is staggering.... (Plus I thought it was funny how they voiced Ravage with an Eastern European accent... :tflaugh )

But back to the topic......

It's kinda hard to talk about "cause and effect" with Starscream's behavior, given the way the G1 show was written. After all, Megatron STILL ended up taking Starscream back after everything he had done. Oh sure, Megs would get pissed, but he never really *did* anything. The worst he did to Starscream pre-TF:TM was banish him to an asteroid (which he simply left when he'd had enough!). But the show was set up that way -- every episode was structured so that in the end, nothing would have changed. Oh sure, you'd get new characters sometimes, or you'd learn something about Cybertron or whatever, but there was no real story to advance. The closest thing they ever had to a real storyline was in the first season of G1, where there was at least some link between episodes.

And then of course, in TF:TM all hell breaks loose. Suddenly actions have consequences! And Starscream ends up getting blown up for chucking an almost-dead Megatron into space. Which is that much worse than anything Starscream had previously done..... how? He had already attempted to assassinate Megatron, raised an army against Megatron, attempted to destroy the Earth (with Megatron on it), and so on.

Starscream was just a tool used by the G1 writers to keep things interesting on the 'con side. (Without him, the Decepticons under Megatron were just a bunch of mindless drones and dumb thugs. Boring.) And when he had outlived his usefulness, he was "written out". Personally, I think Starscream was one of the main reasons why Transformers was fun to watch, and I missed not having a character like him in Season 3 (kinda like how you wish there was a Han Solo character in the Star Wars prequels to liven things up a bit).

Starscream= David Beckam

aka squeaky voice,

aka vain

both shoot straight into the sky

No loyalty to Alex Fegerson who is megatron.

The manager bent on football domination.

Most importantly, both kick off the Cybertron Euro and EPl planet.

Did Beast wars Megatron remind anyone else of Starscream? Yeah he put more fear into his troops, his plans were better but he really only cared for himself. If it weren't for Primal's army I think he would have waisted the Pedacons. He really showed his self love in Beast Machines.

Did Beast wars Megatron remind anyone else of Starscream?

The answer is, no. No, no, no, no, no. BW Megatron rewarded loyalty. Starscream couldn't stop himself from insulting anyone who wasn't him, even if he needed them to do something for him. Starscream was a case study in why people should just shut the f*ck up sometimes. Nine times out of ten, his own mouth got him into trouble more than anything else. It's called diplomacy, and Starscream had no patience (or foresight) for it. BW Megatron lured his entire crew to Earth on false pretenses, and kept up the illusion right up until the point when he finally played his hand. That's some cool-ass strategic thinking. Starscream would have gotten himself blown up by an underling before they ever crashed on Earth.

BTW here's Starscream starting the Great War:

there, you have a point.

Your right. My bad.
