action masters and pretenders questions

Recommended Posts

I was thinking my decepticon forces need more cannon fodder. I started thinking I have never owned a action master nor a pretender. Anyone own any of these? I got a few questions.

1) how big are Action masters and robots in the pretender shell?

2) what are the better figures as far pretenders(i am not interested in the shells :tdown )?

3) where is a good place to buy them ?

4) What is a good price for them ?

Yeah, LM is right, Pretenders are the sh!t. The shells IMO are good, and the robot inside can leave something to be desired. Roadblock is a great toy but without his shells he are teh suck.

Well, in all seriousness... as far as I'm concerned, the Pretenders represent "the day the music died" for the Transformers. Garrgghhh... I still remember that awful song they used in the commercials ("Transformers hide / The Pretenders inside!"). It's hard to convey in words just how offensive those little plastic bastards were to Transfans, who had been through a bit of an emotional roller-coaster recently (dealing with the death of Optimus Prime, watching the "beginning of the end" that was Season 3, finally seeing Optimus return only to have the entire show END)... It was :tfsad and :tfmad and :roll all at the same time.

But at least they were aptly named ('cuz they were "pretending" that they didn't totally suck ass).

the first (and large) pretenders are the better ones, with very futuristic (or Cybertronian) alt modes, then came the little micromaster like robots in large shells, less fun

they had potential, if the shell could do more off course, so I hope someone is trying to make better pretenders, with transforming shells that still have good articulations and inner robots that have interesting transformation

I had one pretender myself, that bear one. I liked the robot inside, but not the shell as that was nothing more then two halves of unmovable unposable plastic. I quite hated that one. Later I got that one where the shell could transform into a bike, I liked that one as the pretender could join the shell as a sidespan car.

i had a few action masters they just got neglected and i never like pretenders
