I admit. I'm biased. I've always liked Action Masters. Those who complain about the "Transformers who don't transform" element probably don't care for the PVCs either, and that's just fine. More for me! ;)

But those who are complaining about the Botcon Breakfast Exclusive need to understand that, since Botcon wasn't an official convention, we were told many times over that there would BE no toy exclusive. In fact, when the Breakfast was announced to have a "toy-based exclusive" the producers bent over backwards not to call it a "toy" per se. While I personally feel that an Action Master counts as a toy, at the very least there should be little cause for disappointment on this count.

On top of all that, Action Master G2 Breakdown is significant for being a representation of the original Botcon Exclusive, and was made from a body-mold that was never generally available in the US, and was given an all-new head sculpt to better represent the character. The amount of care and attention that went into this toy is actually quite amazing.

Then there's the packaging, which is simply beautiful. While going to great lengths to avoid any mention of trademarked names that would get them in trouble (such as "Transformer" or "Decepticon."), they leave no doubt about exactly who and what this exclusive is intended to be. (Incidentally, we have been told that Hasbro is aware of this exclusive, and while they can't "approve" of it, as that would make it official, they don't "disapprove" either, and there should be no legal action coming as a result.) It includes all new Tech Specs and artwork, and the layout is absolutely stunning.

I have a small online presence due to my web page archiving the Action Master Power Plans, so again, my biases should be pretty obvious. In fact, I immediately did custom Power Plans for G2 Breakdown for anyone who's interested. They can be found near the bottom of the page at http://home.earthlink.net/~gbblackrock/. Despite my predisposition to like this figure, though, I really do think it's fair to ask that it be given the respect that it deserves as an exclusive that was done with a lot of care and attention, rather than just written off as a "Transformer that doesn't transform," especially given that we were always told that Botcon could not have such an exclusive in the first place.

My two cents,

Cant stand exclusives. Transmetal Tigertron and the like should be for the masses. It hurts cause at its price I probably will never own it.

Admiral Tailz, your sig pic is definitely too large (in terms of filesize) and thus taking forever to load. Could you save it as a jpg or gif instead of a bmp?
