Binaltech or Alternators? Which Should I Choose?

Recommended Posts

It all depends on how much money you're willing to spend, along with whether you're going to keep them solely as display pieces, or if you wanna play with 'em. If you're just getting 'em for display, and you have the money, go for the die-cast takara releases. But if you wanna play with 'em at all, I'd get the cheaper hasbro releases, they look just as good and you won't have to worry about paint-chipping or anything like that, plus on the off-chance you break one, you're not out that much more than if you got a Takara binaltech release. Since I still play with my toys, I get the cheaper versions :tfgrin

I stick to the Alternators. Die-cast isn't that great IMO and not worth an extra $20-30. Plus I'm patient enough to be able to wait for the north america release.

From the pictures I've seen, the BT's look way nicer, but I've heard they're harder to pose due to the weight, and I've heard some complaints about chipping. I love my Alternators, but even they cost like NZ$50 over here. I can hardly justify that let alone double it for a few bits of die-cast.

If the BT's were more affordable I think I would prefer them, but I'm real glad Hasbro made a cheaper version that I can (just) afford.

Die-Cast is way overated. I wish MP Convoy was plastic, his heavy diecast chest limits his poseability some what.

Binaltech! Not only because of the die-cast but also because you get them sooner. Why wait months for plastic when you can get metal TF's now?

I bought BT Smokes, and as nice as the painted diecast looks on display, I have a horrible habit of transforming and poseing my new Tf's to death. Paying $60 for a TF kind of scares the "play" value out of him for me...not to mention I can buy three Alty's for one BT.

To me, the Alternators look just as nice as the Binaltech. I can't justify spending the extra on the Binaltech and dont mind waiting if it will be a little lighter on my wallet.

Depends what kind of collector you are. If you are one of those guys that buys TF and doesnt open them (collector/resale conscious) then i would go for the binal tech. But if your going to open them up and play with them then go with the cheaper Alternators.

Just depends what kind of collector you are. :thumb
