Review of custom MP OP Trailer

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Well I know this has been a long time coming for those wanting to hear more about the custom trailer from Mark's Projects Website.

I just received the item today and the first thing one notices when pulling from the box is not only the heft of the trailer (it's heavy folks) but it's level of detail! Man am I glad I ordered this. After messing with it for a little bit I truly feel like I got my money worth. It is definitely not made of cheap stuff. Ok, on to the review.

Essentially, it transforms exactly like the original G1 trailer, with some new twists to it.

Instead of the lower legs just folding out to the sides, you need to fold the legs out to an upper 45 degree angle to support the trailer sides properly. Once you have the trailer opened you see the detail on the inside of the trailer. There are a lot of lights and light up panels inside the trailer. The details on the screens are VERY crisp images and look totally awesome when lit. On the back side of the main cannon assembly inside the trailer are two switches for the lights. The switch on the immediate left if you are looking directly at the switches is for the lighting of the guns. The switch to the right of that regulates all of the other lights to the trailer. This is an awesome effect. Especially when you see the running lights to the repair bay that does fit an Alternator/Binaltech figure there. The battery compartments are on the left side of the trailer and are easy to get to and replace. It runs on 3 AA batteries and also 1 9 volt battery. The 9 volt battery compartment has a lid that pulls off and the AA battery compartment has a lid that swings up. It is best to remove these batteries with a pair of tweezers just as not to break anything. Some really nice effects are two light posts at the end of the trailer that can extend when the trailer is open and light up. There is also a radar dish to the right that extends as well, but like with the lights, you need to use care when extending it. After doing it a few times you'll get what it's like to use just the right amount of force to use things on it. When transforming back to trailer mode, you want to make sure that the main cannon platform is all the way down as well as the light posts and the antenna. You especially want the antenna to be back in the same EXACT position as when you first saw it.

Roller is REALLY awesome! To install the batteries, you need to take a small knife and pry up the drivers seat. Make sure to pull out the battery compartment carefully and then install 3 AAA batteries and return the battery compartment back inside Roller. Once in, reseat the drivers seat module and you are good to go. The switch to activate Roller is located in the drivers seat as the stick shift. The panels light up brightly as well as the main search light. Of note on the panels are lots of displays like you would see in any real vehicle and some really cool ones. They are multi colored too so it gives it a really great effect.

One side not is that the legs on the bottom of the trailer are really tight and when pushing the legs back towards the back of the trailer they can chip a little bit when trying to seat them properly.

On another note there is a spot underneath the trailer near the wheels where you can slide Primes rifle in for storage while in vehicle mode.

There is also a small red box with two prongs on it that fits into Prime in vehicle mode. To attach, you just need to slightly pull out Primes Elbows just enough to get the box in. When reclosing the arms, just make sure the holes inside the inner elbows line up with the pegs. The brake hoses that run back to the trailer are attached to this box, and when all is said and done the red box fills the gap in the back of Primes vehicle mode. This creates a nice realistic look with the air brake hoses.

The decals for the stripes and Autobot symbol are nice and crisp and look impecable on this.

I have been really looking forward to this for some time and am so glad I ordered it when I did. It was well worth the $300 in my eyes. Not only did this trailer meet my expectations but it far exceeded them.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you can afford it or even save up for it. :clap

That trailer is, just... :eek I still can't justify the $300 for one myself, but I don't begrudge those who can shell out for this thing. Great find man!

Could you show pictures of the trailer open and of Roller and everything else? It's a lot of money.

it's off the hizzie fa' BIZZACH!(I think thats what it's called)

AKA:mark will be spared when I destroy the earth.

Gah, way too expensive. You could buy about 3 to 4 MP Primes with that. But still, since it's not the work of a multinational corporation, I guess it's understandable considering the quality and detail.

Congrats to you for getting him! :thumb And yes detailed pics would be nice. Thanks!

That is so awesome!!! :clap :clap :clap

I've seen this site before. Hey sodawilly, how do you order them? I was under the impression that he was only going to make a few of them and not go into full production. Man, that is so cool. I hope Hasbro doesn't sue the guy.

Very nice, I cant wait, mine is in wave 2
