Revoltech...why?!

Recommended Posts

Ok I've had a looke at the Seibertron image gallery of the Revoltech Prime, and while I admit it has some nice styling elements, what is the point of him(?!) when we have THS02 available which moves the same and is (I'm guessing here) the same size and poseability?

I'm baffled.

Hes more cartoony looking, and I believe he cost less.

Hmmm, would need to check eBay on that one then.

hes bigger then THS but i think you missing the point. for alot of fans hes cheaper has even more articulation and looks way cooler when in an action pose also you dont have to warry about damage since the plastic they use is realy soft and im guessing wont scratch like THS's diecast so hes more play freindly and i personaly like to transform my transformers a few times befor their put on the shelf to collect dust (yes i do know revotech convoy cant transform but the point of playing with a toy befor putting it away still stands)

Transforming toys are great and all, but sometimes it's just nice to see a "character" with a natural range of motion IMO.

I would dig it more if it didn't look like a Pat-Lee-style-parade-float Optimus.

Oh hush, just be thankful that a non-HasTakTom toy company thinks that tf's are mainstream enough to include an actionfigure of Prime in their "Super Robot Allstars" toyline.

I would dig it more if it didn't look like a Pat-Lee-style-parade-float Optimus.

Agreed. Bikini-top Prime sucks.

i say again GREATEST ACTION MASTER EVERRRRRRRR!! :thumb

Because Revoltech has captured the style and form of many great looking robots, and rather than stop there, they decided to go out on a limb and make an non-transforming Optimus Prime.

It's a unique figure, all-and-all, and it brings something new to the table. Plus, Prime is ionic enough of a character to be made in that form, and sometimes you don't get the same effect when you're posing a Classics Prime. You want to have his hands open, croutched, and weilding his blaster, calling for his troops to move forward. Dramatically, of course.

Megatron and Optimus are both going figures that wow. I just wish we could get a Bumblebee or Starscream in as well.
