Classics colour schemes - opinions?

Recommended Posts

I for one am relatively happy with the colour schemes to date. I know that some people have repainted their classics or added stickers to make them more closely resemble the G1. Although these customs looked great and I was half tempted to do the same I ulitmately decided to leave them as they are. (With the exception of Magnus' face which was sheer laziness rather than a modern approach) I think that they manage to serve as a great homage to the G1 characters as well as providing a bit of variety and in some cases improving over the original schemes. I personally think that ramjet, skywarp and mirage have better colour schemes as well as modern designs when compared to their G1 counterparts.

So what are peoples opinions? Do you think the classics (the most contraversial being magnus and megatron I guess) are great as is or should they be carbon copies of the Geewun to keep the old school fans appeased?

I think the only classic that got the shaft as far a a color scheme goes would be Astrotrain. Everyone else looks pretty good. I mean there are a few questionable choices imo, mainly Megs, but I think Astrotrain really got the worst of it.

I agree

Classics Megatron is the worst in my opinion. Green & purple nerf. ugh.

Although good, I think something is not right with Starscream: the color balance, more than the color scheme.

Can't stand Cliffjumper's silver "graphics." So much so, that I don't want him.

As for Astrotrain, a white space shuttle makes more sense than a purple one, and the red & purple detail lines are SOOO bullet train paint schemes.

I agree

Did you guys not have the original toy?

I think Classics Starscream really suffers from his color scheme. Way too much red and not enough blue IMO.

I like Cliffjumper's colors...probably more than Bumblebee.

:pfx a lot

Cliffjumper is way cooler as a car, and Bumblebee looks like a lemon meringue pie.

I almost bought a BB, since I happened to find some left at a Kmart yesterday, but I decided to wait on Cliffjumper.

Because he rules

I love everything about the Classics line. I like the colors, the articulation, the head sculpts - all of it. I wish this toy line would never end until every Transformer from 1984-1986 had been 'reinterpreted'.

I would have preferred 'toon accurate colors on Astrotrain - but that's a minor complaint, and I wish Megs wings were detachable easily.

Bring on more classics, Hasbro! I'll crawl on bloody leg stumps across Death Valley to get them. They sell well virtually everywhere. The few shelfwarmers out there are no different than any other toy line. I still to this day have never seen a Grimlock or Jetfire in a store - because they sell so damn quickly. But I got mine. :tftongue
