smallest transformers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. (and gals)

Has anyone been collecting or seen firsthand the worlds smallest transformers? I was just wondering what peoples opinions on them were as I was fortunate enough to get hold of complete waves 1 and 2. Isn't it amazing how people fall for the 'lets make them smaller so people will think they're cute and buy them again' routine so easily. (Myself being a Prime example) I've seen that they're now releasing a new set consisting mainly of characters in the first 2 waves. Does anyone else find this a bit unfair as those people wishing to try and get ahold of the chase figures (thundercracker and anime prime trailer) will find them selves burdened with multiple copies of TFs they already own from previous sets, unless of course they want to fork out for buying the chase pieces individually. Other than that no complaints, groovy little toys especially soundwave and jazz. (and lil' ravage) Thunms up! :thumb

I wonder if there will be a way to tell the difference between wave 1, 2, and the new convenience store releases. Will there be a different feature or time stamp?

Anyways, I like the WSTF myself. Pretty cool!

Good question. I couldn't see any dates on the lil' fellas so I guess they'll just be identical repros of the wave 1 and 2 figures. Whether its so people can have the chance to buy the most popular characters again due to the other 2 waves selling out, or just to make life easy for them with plain ol re-releases (surely not!) who knows. Then again, all the chase figures for all 3 waves are repaints of each other or previous normal figures (i.e. starscream, followed by chase skywarp and thundercracker) so I guess it's all a bit of a gimmick really. WSTF hot rod looks great tho. Best thing about him being that he will be the only figure in the line to not be repainted and/or re-released in a subsequent wave (far as we know anyway) which makes him kinda special I reckon. Any idea when the next wave is out? I remeber reading but can't think where.

It´s easy to buy... for example a box of the wave 1 or the wave 2, then you can sell or change several figures and you can buy chase figures later.

Well... of course that starscream, skywarp and thundercracker are repaints...not only in the smallest serie. ^^

I have a few. I always order them sealed, then trade off the extras for whatever ones I dind't get. Oddly enough, I always get a chase but always have one relatively common one that I don't get.

Whoa, I could do with luck like that. Easy way to make some cash too if they're high in demand like bluestreak. Anyone any thoughts on what may be coming out in future waves? I should imagine that anything's possible after seeing the detail in megatrons transformation. Some easy repaints maybe such as:

Ramjet

Dirge

Smokescreen

Or maybe something more obscure like

Hubcap

Meister

Soundblaster

Clamp down

Deep cover

Sunstorm

I'm betting that there's a load more G1 classics like ironhide and trailbreaker in the pipeline. And there's that rumour circulating about a possible chase Magnus trailer which can combine with chase Magnus..............

Now how's about a combiner, such as devastator? The combiners don't in general have difficult transformations, just that some of the joints may be unflexible and easily broken on such a small scale. In terms of the cartoon, is it possible that the smallest TFs may be the right scale for a city sized Fort max?
