I mostly use Humbrol enamels, look for them in hobby stores.

I use small cans of spray paint (Testors Enamel Paint) for when I want to recolor something (see my Turbine kitbash). For details I sometimes use paint pens or small bottles of paint. Really anything meant for use with plastics. Don't buy anything that says it's for porous surfaces (like wood)

spray paint I use testors spray enamel. small bottles of paint I use testors acrylics.

Enamel is tougher/more durable, but harder to clean up. Acrylic is thinner and gives you a smoother finish but easily chips.

I use Citadel Water based Acrylics. And I use white spray primer on pieces before I paint them. The colors go on smooth and the white underneath gives a some solid, vibrant color with less coats.

most hobby stores have them, or you can try here:

I've never ordered online though so you're on your own there.

This primer stuff you guys speak of...it helps the paint stick to the toy better? I had butt-loads of fun trying to do my Armada Scourge repaint...took me like 4 coats, and some of the red still shows through if you look close enough >_

Yeah Frapp, the primer is made to allow paint to adhere to it, and if comes in different colors, usually black, white and shades of grey- Grey is usually Automotive Primer- I think its alittle heavier then modeling primer (I use Citadel White modeling primer) because it meant to handle automotive spray paint. The black primer will give you a less vibrant tone on your colors, and generally a bit darker. Its still possible to get chips though, its not an indestructable bond. But it will adhere better and easier so you need less coats.
