TF-1.com - Joustra Diaclone Porsche (Jazz) article

Recommended Posts

As promised, a move away from minibot articles!

Here's the article on the European Joustra "Diaclone" Porsche 935, in other words, pre-TF Jazz.

Truly lovely piece.

Still awaiting what will no doubt be kickass Paul Vromen artwork, but I'll post as soon as that's ready.

Hope you enjoy it, all the best

I remember seeing this one in a store once. I remember where and why I was there, and even roughly when. I also remember I really liked the box and since he was cheaper then the TF Jazz, I wanted one. Unfortunately I didn't have any money at the time and asked my mother to lend it to me or maybe even buy one for me. She refused, arguing that it wasn't an original TF and I should keep 'my collection' pure and not buy fakes. :tard

D'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!

Heck this thing is probably more 'pure' and true to its heritage than the TF is.

Ah well, you can make up for it now :)

Hehe, not even close mate. For example the Mexican Smokescreen article was a result of Tim Bannerjee bringing it round to my house for featuring, the MC blue Bumblebee was SENT to me by post by Specimen 17 for review then sent back, the first batch of Peruvian minibots I reviewed belonged to another friend, most of the Diaclones featured I sold on years ago etc etc.

Usually the credit at the bottom of the articles points out who the stuff belongs to.

The Joustra Diaclones are mine though, thankfully :)

But I'm guessing he won't be cheaper then a G1 Jazz (like he was all those years ago).

Think I'll just stick with my old, slightly yellowed, G1 Jazz for now. Buying figures in a different color is still another story. Road Hauler, Anime Streak, Clampdown, Downshift and Tigertrack have all been bought after reading the article on your site (and I'm waiting to cave in for several others): I'm so glad you haven't done a powered Convoy or blue Bluestreak article :tftongue

He should be comparable in price with a MIB unused G1 original Jazz, but nowhere near as cheap as a reissue.

haha how close are you to caving on Anime Astrotrain? The artist for my site, Paul, caved days after the article was added to the site!

As for Blue Bluestreak, you're safe for now. Can't say the same for Powered Convoy though ;)

I have added a picture of the "POLSCHE" spelling error diaclone packaging variant courtesy of Joel at BBTS.

Actually, not close at all. I'll admit he looks nice in the colors of the cartoon/comic, but I like the colors of the diaclone version more. But more importantly, I've got a G1 Astrotrain and I'm simply not too crazy about the mold. (I always thought I owned a Mexican Astrotrain, but it does have the complete Takara stamp; but my G1 Blue/Silverstreak has this as well and I'm very sure that's a Mexican.)

Hm, Powered Convoy :drool

A few weeks ago one of those chromy versions was on e-bay. I really would like to own one of those in very minty condition, but they really go for big prices. I already have a junker original, but I've been considering getting the Diaclone reissue, and even the shiny clear yellow one. But those have also risen in price lately. And the Blotty part is, that I'm not really * that* crazy about the Powered Convoy mold: he simply looks gorgeous in his original colors (esp. the chromy one) and also in clear yellow :schin
