What exactly happened to Armada Starscream?

Recommended Posts

yeah, because World's Collide stopped to the low levels of "omg!! G1 characterz!!111"

The Unicron Battles had a much deeper story...sad to say I doubt anyone can even say what that story is.

what, Worlds Collide. It's quite simple really, I don't know why people have such a hard time understanding what's going on in comics, it's not like they're written by Isaac Asimov. Over-run comes to the Armada universe to warn Optimus of Unicron's coming. Unfortunately, due to the various worlds coming into alignment, Optimus has arrived on the very Cybertron Over-run came from. Fortunately, the Autobots find Over-run, but so does one of Unicron's heralds (who resembles G1 Galvatron) He makes quick work of Hotshot, Starscream, and Thrust. But Over-run still escapes him. As the Autobots continue to search for Optimus, Megatron attacks Autobase while the minicons attempt to retrieve Over-run's ship. With it, they can retrieve Optimus once he's located. As Megs attacks autobase, the Galvy look-alike appears and they do battle. At first, it looks as if Megs is finished, but the power of the Star Sabre tips the balance of power in his favor, and he destroys his foe. Back on Cybertron, the rest of Unicron's heralds (resembling Scourge, Bludgeon, Thunderwing, and Dirge) use the Warp gates to open portals to all of the other alternate Universes. Jetfire and his crew attempt to stop them, and eventually succeed in destroying the base. But Jetfire's only escape was through a portal that led him to Optimus. Fortunately, the minicons have retrieved Over-run's ship and arrived there as well. Using the power of the Minicon matrix, Optimus and Jetfire combine and are able to hold off Unicron long enough to escape. Although Jetfire and the others succeeded in closing the portal network, one portal remained. Optimus gathers all the minicons, and even the Decepticons, to make a final stand on Cybertron. Unicron emerges, and the combined armies attack as the minicons pull channel their power through the minicon matrix. At the same time, Megatron arrives on Unicron, only to be ambushed by Hotshot and the other autobots (they were taking revenge for a badly injured Smokescreen that Megatron nearly destroyed). Megs is left for dead as Unicron retreats back into the portal. A new age begins on Cybertron, and the Energon series follows.

I liked that better than the Unicron battles, but then I guess there are some who prefer watered down dialogue and poor dubbing. Not to mention the fact that the Armada cartoon had very little action, even in the final episode. But hey, that's just me.

Both the Cartoon and Comic endings had their good points and bad points.

The Cartoon had a great deal of battling action and Unicron Transforming, plus the final battle between Megs and Optimus. But what wasn't great was that once Unicron transformed he basically just stood there like a statue, and he was defeated by "everybody getting along" (Kids, hating is bad. Think happy thoughts!)

The Comic had great fanboy appeal with the G1s fighting Armada (ie. Megatron vs. Galvatron) and the using of a matrix to defeat Unicron was just G1 goodness. But Unicron is destroyed almost as soon as he shows up and never ever transforms which is a big disappointment and Megs gets beaten by a linch mob of Autobots out for revenge and you are left without a Optimus vs. Megatron battle.

All I can say is that I am glad they went in seperate directrions and showed us different possibilities.
