Hypothetical Dream Botcon 2006 exclusive set

Recommended Posts

I like the Botcon set they have this year(I better, I paid enough for it), but they could have done a little more to do it perfect. Basing the set on figures from Armada, Energon, and Cybertron, here would be my ideal set for the Beast Wars characters, and since we're here, why not go all the way and do all 14 of the original characters:

Autobots:

Rattrap--I'm not unhappy with Rattrap as Ransack, but I think it would have been better as Hardtop.

Cheetor--Override would be a PERFECT Cheetor. The vehicle mode, robot, and even the head are all perfect.

Dinobot--Instead of a yucky Armada mold, the perfect Dinobot would have been Cybertron Defense Hot Shot. Armored and tough looking with a big knife, what more could you want. The head is even close.

Rhinox--Cybertron Landmine is a decent fit here, though I think Rhinox should be bigger. I'd go with Armada Red alert or the front half(or the whole thing) of Energon Landmine. Preferably Energon Landmine.

Optimus Primal--The mold as Crumplezone works for the ape resemblance, but what would have been cool would be Primal as Cybertron Optimus Prime, just the cab, with the legs remolded so the back end of the cab was shorter and more like a regular semi. Now that would be cool.

...and while we're at it...

Airrazor--I'm not the biggest fan of the mold, but I think the best fit for Airrazor would be Armada Thrust.

Tigatron--Tigatron would be great as Armada Wheeljack. Even the claw marks would work, and the head is a nice match as well.

Decepticons:

Megatron--They got this one dead right. Cybertron Defense Red alert all the way. Big Freaking Gun.

Scorponok--Crumplezone is a perfect match.

Waspinator--I'd go with Energon Starscream as Waspinator.

Terrorsaur--Energon Slugslinger here, the shoulder cannon is just perfect. That mold would look great in red.

Tarantulas--Crosswise would be my match for Tarantulas.

...and while we're at it...

Blackarachnia--Can't argue with Thunderblast here.

Inferno--I think Evac or Bulkhead would be the fit for Inferno, preferably Evac. I just see Inferno as a helicopter, and I don't think Cyclonus is a good fit.

I like a lot of your choices. It sounds like a good set.

I've never been fond of the override/cheetor thing though. I always felt he would be better has Cyb Hot Shot.

Prime to Primal is to easy. I know they could be more creative then that.

For Airazor I would probably use the Energon Skyblast mold. The Thrust mold just sucks too much to be Airazor.

I always pictured Tarantulas has a motorcycle. maybe his TM form has influenced me in this, but it really feels like it suits him. Too bad there are no good deluxe motorcycles.

Overall though I agree with your list. Too bad it's not going to happen. But it's always nice to dream :thumb

Dinobot--Instead of a yucky Armada mold, the perfect Dinobot would have been Cybertron Defense Hot Shot. Armored and tough looking with a big knife, what more could you want. The head is even close.

I don't know, I think Defense Hot Shot looks more like Polar claw.

Well, what about Silverbolt, Depth Charge, and Quickstrike. They were there too. I mean, we have two options here:

We can go with the crews that crash land on Ancient Earth, or we could expand and go with what you're saying, and include the stasis pod characters and characters that didn't necessarily come from stasis pods, which in that case would include the three I just named.
