FIRST LOOK at Transformers Classics Ultra Magnus

Recommended Posts

Y'all can't tell me you weren't expecting this.

I was fearing it, is that the same thing?

Every not-cool figure dilutes the coolness of a toy line... Classics Magnus may look cool, but the idea is ghey and White Prime evokes zero G1 nostalgia for me

I like, but I also agree that it BS that the damn line isn't even out and repaints are showing up.

What bugs me about making Prime white is that regular Prime has an iconic face and head. Something about it (Machine Wars not withstanding) just screams bad-ass to me.

When they paint it white, however, it just looks ridiculous.

Case in point: the pic below. Armada "Bendy" Prime is a cool looking fig with an awesome take on the OP face and head. Paint it white and it looks absurd.

You know that the head on this fig is going to look just like this.

TRY NOT DOING A LINE WITH REPAINTS OR SOMETHING.

seriously, you'd think that the toylines were tanking big time due to so many repaints. Hasbro's last business statement said that Transformers were actually turning an increasing profit. you'd think that mayby Hasbro would actually do something with that profit and, i don't know, INVEST IT IN REASEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF ORIGINAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS?!! but no, transformer toylines must have more and more repaints in order to keep artificially inflated profit margins afloat :roll

you know what's really stupid? repaints have even LESS paint apts than the original toy :finger :argue :slap :saw

Actually the toy was done before the comic but close enough

They should have made some armor for him

I think Magnus as a straight Prime Reapint is a stupid-ass idea, ever since Dreamwave did it.

However, I love the paintjob on the cab. The silver stripe and the overall look is very nice.

he means the white Prime as a character

Full G1 nostalgia points for me. I broke my Prime when I was little, so I used an Ultra Magnus cab from a rummage sale as Prime...COATED IN HEAT-RESISTANT METAL!

Take that hate-plague!

Edit: Anyone feel free to use my template in future threads.

im a lil disapointed with the white cab repaint. Its time Magnus had hia own mould now. I dnt mind repaints but it getting ridiculous

Please explain how the profit margins are artificially inflated.

IMO a remolded head would be even worse. Ultra Magnus' head belongs on Ultra Magnus, not on White Prime. It'd be like putting Bruticus' head on Onslaught.

Well, at least w/a remolded head all I'd have to do is give it some additional red detailing.

No new head = no buy.

I agree. If there was ever a TF line that would benefit from an original Magnus mold, this would be it. I mean, we've only had 2 original UM molds ever, over the last 22 years...
