when they tf'd into their respective alt modes, could it be said that they were much more powerful? because im my head they did it for specificly that reason. the power was more concentrated that way because it wasnt just an appendage anymore, they were in essence using power from their whole body to charge up the shot. other than that it really didnt make any sense.

I always saw Transformation having several uses.

1: A way to blen in to an alien enviroment, stay undercover if the need arises.

2: Travel. It's much easy to travel when you are the vehicle!

3: Fighting. This allows you to have alternate options in a fight other than a head to head fist fight, or a cross field fire fight. You can close the distance quickly or create distance with a well placed blast froma tank cannon or airplane missle.

I'd say Optimus Prime and Megatron are exceptions due to the fact that they are well tuned fighters and have distinct advantages over most other TF's. So the might not be more powerful in alt mode, but know how to and when to use it for the best result/effect.

it works for Galvatron since he remained the same size and in cannon mode the orange barrel could've been channeled directly into his Unicron-enhanced power core. but for Megatron, he shrank down into a handheld weapon so that kind of creates a contradiction. i think that for Megatron, it was mostly a means of advertising the toy. "Hey kids, you too can hold the powerful decepticon ever in your hands!"

Well, for Megs... think about a garden hose spraying water. The more condensed space that the same amount of water goes through, the more powerful it becomes.

It would make sense - too bad it took 21 years for Megs to become a clear shot, and actually shoot someone. (1984 - 2005) :thumb

Galvy - well, the theory about using the whole body to charge a shot.
