Well, here it is... my version of sunstorm with energon starscream.

 

I had a pic of the eHobby one up while paitning, so I tried to go mostly be that.

 

I'ld also be willing to do one for people for a decent charge.

He looks a little to red to be sunstorm. Sunstorm is yellow dude.

well he's orange actually and i think it's just the lighting in the pics anyway. but i'd do something with white details in the jet mode to break up the sheer orangeness of it all namely by the wings.

Not too shabby. I thought it looked a little dark myself too, but after seeing the alt mode pictures, it could have just been the lighting. The only thing I _dont_ like, is the yellow coloring of the energon that shows through. To me it seems more like a spilt paint accident than an added feature in the toy.

 

I know I may have come across with a negative tone, but I do like the repaint. I just figured I would pass on my constructive criticism ;)

and I can take criticism well... eh does look a bit dark in teh pics... but he is definately brighter in person...

 

and I didn't know what to do with the "energon cracks"... should I color them back in?

I'm not 100% sure what to do with the energon cracks... I think it would look bad to just paint them orange like the rest...It would almost be like you were just ignoring their existence while doing the repaint.

 

You might do something more along the lines of battle damage, rather than energon cracks. Perhaps a darker, almost black color or black wash over the parts, and then some fine, FINE lines put on with a pin of maybe blue or red like little wires. Just a suggestion, and feel free to take artistic freedom to make it look the best you can.

 

And looking back at the pictures, it may just be the choice of yellow....it seems like baby-poo yellow rather than a neon energon yellow :)

How much chipping do you get when you transform him? If you don't get any, I'm always looking for ways to improve my repaints in that area.

 

Otherwise, looks awesome. I may very well one day buy up a bunch of Starscreams to repaint as the various G1 seekers.

This mold gets a little chipping from transformation. mostly around the neck area. The pics in alt mode were right after transforming him without touching up.

I have to look REALLY close to see what I think MIGHT be some chipping around there - in other words, great job.

 

Hmmmmm....I'd need six Starscreams. And a bunch of new paint.
