I don't know- it seems odd that they would get rid of a collection that they spent so much of their life collecting.

like any other hobby in life, they come and go

I believe that Pete@Botcon said at seibertron that they had reached a point where the collection just did not interest them as much as it had and that there were more important things in their life now, but also that they are still fans of the concept and keen to be involved in the fandom.

It's just come to the time when the collection holds no more allure to them.

I completed my vintage Star Wars collection about ten years ago, and yeah sold most of it off.

One likes to think they wont sell, but what do you do when you're finished, eh? I didn't believe it myself until I did it. Its kind of like tasting beer when you're 8 years old. You say, "No way I'll ever drink something that tastes like that...." Its a mindset that you cant understand until you are actually there.

Good point.

Though I doubt I would ever sell my collection. It means so much to me, the memories and all that.

I am curious. Was it profitable for you at the end of the day? Like was already said, a whole collection has to be some serious money?

Heh - maybe they can give the $30 back to Glen Halit... he owes me after his failed TFCC membership fiasco.

:tdown with his bankrupt'd ass.

I can vouch for that outlook, having been there myself. I still love TFs, but I no longer have the desire to "Catch them all", like I did months ago. I've sold a bunch, and will sell more... but I still buy the occasional bot too. Still a fan, but no longer a heavy collector.

That's a great analogy. Fits the situation perfectly! :thumb

Well I wouldnt know about that, I've never been a completist and I dont like beer.

I do wonder how they are going to do this... like if everything will just have a specific price tag or what.

Wish I had known about this last month, I would have talked to Karl about it at Iacon.
