Megatron:im sorry but i gotta say it..I TOLD YOU SO!!! i knew we would get Scr3wed over on this one

 

Optimus:hes so....RED! i like the original cab more...the new vehicles are cool though

 

Astrotrain: we knew it was coming

 

Cheetor: wtf? the grey makes him look old! it would better fit as Tigertron

 

Mutant Soundwave: i like it....

 

Tarantulus: im not gonna even comment...i refuse to believe that THING is Taratulus

i gotta say..these pics have made me lose A LOT of faith in hasbro..

I do not like these repaints one bit. Well the Tarantulus and Cheetor ones aren't too bad, and I'll pick them up anyway (I hope). The Megatron though, I knew we were going to get screwed. That Optimus sucks. I'll stick with the powerlinking version or the multi-color one. Ironhide, he just doesn't seem to impress me. I need to check out my cousin's first. Cruellock and Ravage I'll pick up the originals. Astrotrain, no thanks because I already own Powerlinx Jetfire.

The one thing that all of these repaints have in common:

 

They managed to bring out the WORST features in every mold.

 

I dunno -- they all just look awful now. Cruellock's paint scheme must have been inspired by "Fruity Pebbles vomit." Blaaaaarrgghh. Optimus is just frickin' hilarious, he's so bad. I wonder if he has that butt flap in the back of his long johns. Megatron.... well, someone was bored that day. That's the most uninspired repaint I've seen in a long time.

To be fair, we really don't know who's decision these repaint colors were, its entirely possible that they were Takara's ideas, at least for the Galv repaint we got an indication of Hasbro's intentions to paint it in movie colors so it is possible Takara decided to go with this new color scheme like when Hasbro planned a Sixshot homage color scheme for PL Demolishor but Takara felt an Ironhide homage color scheme was best (how they came to that conclusion I don't know)....

 

I guess its picking at straws, whichever company decided this must have been smoking something :nuts

I'm over the whole color fiasco. No biggie. Easier on the wallet, I don't have any compelling reason to buy Energon molds over again except for Megatron for formatting purposes. :)

 

I'm trying to figure out what the heck Meister's gun is. It just looks like they took artistic liberties and made it a chunk of the top engine cover.

Its a muffler...and i'm too saddened by these repaints...especially because I know the circumstance surrounding Convoy's repaint and what was originally planned...take note of the black drones, guys...and if anyone's curious, invert Convoy and see how he was planned to be originally.

Any chance you might be able to go into some more detail on this? This sounds very interesting :)

 

BTW did this Megatron repaint scrap the Galvatron repaint that was planned like you were saying the Prime one was?

 

Oh and here's the Prime inverted for those who haven't tried it:

I think he means if you take the inverted color of the cab with the current colors of the drones, it looks a lot like Nemisis Prime / Scourge
