Peter Cullen Cast as Optimus Prime?

Recommended Posts

The variance only shows his talent in the field of voice-acting. Plus, if the scripts suck, you can only do so much with it. BW Megatron's lines were deep, and had great potential to show what kind of character BW Megs is, and Kaye fully used that potential. THe other Megs, not so much potential, but Kaye still did a terrific job with it.

Don't forget that in A/E/C Kaye had to match the Japanese lip flaps - this limits the performace quite a bit.

I just want to reiterate that Cullen's Lil speech at SDCC was ALMOST unrecognizable as Prime.

And I mean that in a good way - the cheesy John Wayne bits were gone - but it was absolutely still PRIME.

once it gets attached to a real robot - i think all the good iconic stuff about prime will be realized and all the cartoony john wayne bits will be shed.

I just want to also share again - that moment is like one of my all time favorite TF moments ever.

well fair enough, right? I mean, that was a bit of TF history there you got to witness.

bastard

anyway I think the John Wayne thing is overblown w/ Cullen... yeah he had some of it in his voice at first, but it eventually changed and became more the "voice of strength and wisdom" Prime we all know and heart

YAY
