I agree with Tman.

It doesnt matter what Quint knows. He's not being asked to name the characters or fly any planes.

All he really needs to beable to tell us that the explosions are BIG and the set looks awesome.

Ok, that'd be great if this was, oh I dunno, a movie that I didn't care about, but this is the Transformers movie. It would pay off to have "one of us" on the inside so we could get a real Transfan's perspective. I already know it'll be a hit with non Transfans.

I guess - but then a hard core fan would be getting all pissed about the spelling of "TEH Scorponok" and BB being a Camero and not paying attention to the stuff that matters.

I seriously doubt any of us are going to storm out of the theater saying that the film sucked cause the misspelled Scorpys name.... cause the bottom line is - thats not what the film is about.

And to answer Outrider - who DOESNT have a chubby for Josh Dumeahl?!?!

:eek

I agree with Quints analysis of him.

this will be our GINO: a good movie in its own right but completely different from the source material.

/actually liked GINO :redface

And that's you. You're very, very different from me. What you want is totally different from what I want. I personally think that if someone is reporting ANYTHING, they should know atleast a little bit about what it is they are reporting. To give an analysis of "Uh, I dunno. They had some planes and stuff and they blew up a couple of things." does not give a very descriptive picture of things. He can describe the desert and the sand all he wants. I will be able to see all of that on the big screen and to be truthful, it's not that important. Furthermore, I doubt that the character in question will actually be called "The Scorponok" in the movie. I figure this is just someone's lack of knowledge.

i just wish there was more of a sense of optimism about the film...

i just wish there was more of a sense of optimism about the film...

I'm very optimistic. Don't get me wrong. I WANT to see this film. I want to see it be successful. I just don't want to see some non-Transfan give Transfans a distorted vision of what the film will actually be. I'll put it this way. If it was me, giving the story, I would have made sure to be acurate with things that were actually important to the film. I did appreciate that this writer tried to emphasize that it is shaping up to be a big time production. I just wish he hadn't spent so much time talking about how "cool" he thinks he is because he's hanging out with movie folks. Not stuff like "There was a jet and I think someone mentioned that it was a C-130." Ya see? A C-130 is a prop plane.

To Clearify, I do not hate the movie, I just like to make a completely objective analyzation of what little infomation gets leaked out. If you do not like my findings then it is probably YOU who will not like the new movie. Myself, I couldn't care less about the movie, I'm more interested in the toyline that will tie in to it. Of course, I am hoping that the movie is a success, I'm just trying to be more of a realist about it instead of "OMFG FANGASM!!!".

I'm still having a hard time receiving anything that comes from someone who refers to "THE Scorponok" and also someone who doesn't know what a C-130 looks like. Geebus. Can we get someone who actually knows a thing or two on the set?

And occasionally "THE SCORPOKON!"

Meh, I dunno, sounds like a Bay movie.

I agree with everything AM said.

It's kind of impossible to mistake a C-130 for a jet, even if you know jack about airplanes. :roll
