Whats most infuriating is that if we do see an alt with animal alt mode, I can just hear the flood of "dammit, I told you T-rex alt grimlock woulda worked!"

And what would make all those  :tfevil Grimlock :tfevil people wrongwrongwrong is the fact that G1 Grimlock actually had a robot mode. I'm not trying to support the stance of "Alts are Geewon redone" but still.

Right, but IMHO, a beast mode and a bot mode in the same character are redundant, as well as having been done like 10 bazillion times. This would be something fresh.

 

And the people at ford/jaguar/whatever would probably dig it, since its a jaguar that turns into a.....jaguar. Schweetness.

This is either going one better or far, far worse:

Soundwave as a slightly remolded (head only) blue repaint of MP prime, with an included 4-car carrier trailer accessory.  This accessory would be able to change into somewhat unposeable magnus armor; they would also reissue MP-2 with it (in the proper colors).

 

The trailer, naturally enough, would not be available separately. :tfsad

You actually beleave they'll notice? I think they'd think it's cool. The way you're thinking is with the mind of a fan. In a Fan's mind, Cars turn into humanoid robots. In those marketing folks minds, they see what was agreed a Use of their car's likeness as a toy that converts to a robotic form. Way more open minded than a fan.

I think Hasbro Probably wanted the Jag to be Ravage the whole time but didn't know the line was gonna last this long. We are way beyond 5 car Models

Yup I think they will notice.  If it rocks it won't matter, but if it has kibble like all the other alts but is a cat instead of a humanoid robot, so it looks like it belongs on a leash next to the other characters, I think they would think sucks.  I'd like to see there face when thye see the viper turn into dead end and corvet turn into swerve and the jaquar turn into fluffy. 

but that's just me, I not a branding professional.
