BotCon 2006 Megatron

Recommended Posts

I don't think the tech spec writers intended those little bios to be subjected to such intense scrutiny. But they're talking about a Megatron who's running around on present-day Earth, you do the math

Sure, but present-day Earth Megatron leads the Decepticons, not the Predacons.

Different characters.

I hope you're joking with LM :wtf if not what he said flew straight over your head.

The original intent for "Beast Wars" is a lot easier to understand if you look at it as an even MORE "X-TREME" version of G1 than G2. G2 changed the faction symbols and gave everyone nasty color schemes and big chins, but Beast Wars made them friggin animals (sorry, BEASTS -- rarrr!!). It was honestly a pretty desperate attempt on Hasbro's part to get some attention for the brand again. Thankfully the show had nothing to do with any of that and ended up being really awesome.

Maybe I did, I couldn't tell if he meant the character was G1 Megatron because he was based on present-day Earth or if he meant that the bio card writers had no idea what they were writing about because they made Megatron into a T-Rex on present-day Earth.

This I can agree with. This is why I don't even bother reading tech specs on most of my toys. They're not there so much to define the characters as they are to just make the toys interesting enough to the kids that don't really understand them anyway.

This is why I get a big laugh every time people complain about how horrible a figure is when they see it on eBay, but then when they see the bio they suddenly thing the toy is AMAZING!!! These people are effectively paying $20 for the figure because they like a paragraph written on the box, not because they actually like the toy in it.  :tflaugh

I dont know why but for the longest time since I've been posting on TFans, I've always thought Hunter was a female Transfan  :redface . I dont know whether I read something or maybe it was the name. I know what he is now though.  :thumb
