Does anyone know whether or not the script has been written for the live action Transformers movie. If so send me a copy. If you guys want to guess, how do you think the movies is going to start, and where (earth or Cybertron). Will the Transformers be aliens or something man made (like Johnny 5). Please put some input into this forum guys.

I would say alien. Man-made would just ruin the whole concept. (If they're anything like the stuff we build nowadays, there would be no fights in the movie because the manuals would all be translated poorly from Japanese, be horribly complicated, and would take them years to figure out!)

I really wanna know if they will be serious about this film - or just make some rubbish that doesn't fit TF at all. I don't mind if it doesn't fit with the original G1 series continuity, but it needs to follow the basic concepts of it.

I say just prepare to be angry. I'm pretty sure, unless they get the dreamwave writers, the only thing this movie will have in common with any other continuity is the names Optimus Prime and Megatron. They try really hard now days to make comic movie more believable. On top of that they'll have 2 hours to tell the story.

But then again the transformers game looks like they did a lot of research, so just pray.

DeSanto's already on record saying he wants to do this correctly and maintain the spirit of the original mythos. I think it's in good hands, I feel he's done a damn fine job of adapting the X-men to the big screen-- changing what needs to be changed, yet keeping the spirit intact.

Oh... and don't ask for scripts. That's illegal (they're intellectual propery and one getting out to the public without the company's okay is essentially theft), and you don't want TFans in trouble, do you? :nuts

my thoughts exactly, but the sad truth is that no matter how well they do this movies, you're still gonna have a group of people who absolutely hate it. As I said in another thread, some geeks are impossible to please.

I just thought of something. Do you think that the figures will be transformable, or more along the lines of the Heroes of Cybertron figures?

Personally, im expecting the worst. I rarely enjoy movies based on comics/video games , though I did thoroughly enjoy X-2. If I go into the movie expecting it too be great, i'll probably just be dissapointed.

I'm a little conflicted over the movie. I want to believe that it will be at least as good as X-2 (which I also enjoyed), but I have this looming sense of doom surrounding the whole thing.

I think it will at least be a decent film. If they do things like they say they are going to, then it should be good. If they have some good CG artists, like those who did Final Fantasy or LOTR, then the interaction between the Transformers and perhaps humans should be almost seamless. Just like Big Grim said there will always be those who gripe. I have a feeling I won't be let down.
