Won't work. Unless people buy this game and make it successful then they won't any more. That's what happened to the Armada game, it didn't do very well so Atari dumped it.

Of course they could always throw out another Beast Wars game. That sucked ass, but it was another game.

email youre little hearts out folks. theyre are two kinds of people in this world people who let things happen and people who make things happen. i have two little boys who would love a two player transformers game so please help  :tfdance i guess you can delete this thread nobody seems to care i posted this over the 2005boards and got two pages of sarcasm wow that is one friendly place. wtf they have a 200million dollar movie coming out next year so a videogame wouldent really be a gamble would it?

I thought you knew, a game is already in the works for the movie. What needs to happen is the video game has to sell. Then the company will make more games. Also, we don't want Hasbro to make these games, they suck at making games.

New Game

Here's the link. The game is still very early so no pictures yet.

Well, Hasbro can start by not falling into the idiotic situation of targeting a single console, ala Armada and the PS2.  By doing this, they shut down all the adult fans who had an XBox and all the kids whose parents bought a Nintendo.  I hated every aspect the the Armada fiction but I'dve had a copy if Atari hadn't been so myopic.  And if whoever's publishing the movie game(s) does something as stupid as locking it into the $600 PS3, the $300/underselling XB360 (extrapolated rate of adoption has it falling short of the Dreamcast), or the outdated (and falling apart left and right) PS2, they deserve to fail.

yeah i know we will have a game next year but atari had one ready to roll out he he he. plus the movie game will be based on non massshifting transformers and not our beloved g1 characters. you know what burns me is theyre are multiple games for gundamwing and the gundams toys that are left are at biglots. i think theyre marketing director needs a kick in the pants. i want to see grimlock, prowl, megatron i want to play as my favorite characters. come on hasbro lays multiple repaints why not a reformat of the takara g1 game at the very least? you know what im not backing down i use to make 400 to 500 dollars a week working only 24 hours talking to people on the phone i need to speak with someone directly the game i saw had a takara and a hasbro logo so it wouldent be like pulling teeth or something. whew can you tell id like to have a new tf videogame?

The problem with a TF game being made and released is trying to get it to appeal to the increasing 'hardcore' gamers, the ones who love all the constant EA rehashes and violent, 'I'm a hard man, I am', games.  If the game doesn't appeal to them, then it doesn't sell because other gamers don't know about the game.  Plus a lot of these 'hardcore' gamers tend to think that toys and games based on toys are kiddie and not 'hardcore' enough for their tiny minds.

That's the way it's been for a fair while now, the gamers who are willing to try different genres don't find out about a lot of games that are different from the usual rubbish till it's too late and the 'hardcore' gamers ignore anything that's not to their standards, so developers cater to the 'hardcore' gamers and don't try hard enough to market games that are different, like the Armada game was.

Aye, it was a basic platform shooter, but it had actual characters fighting an actual war.  It had true cartoon villians, even though Megatron's death in the game was well done and quite unlike what you would expect from G1 Megs.  And it had one thing that was very different from other shooters, your character could transform between a more mobile mode to a more attack ready mode instead of being stuck in one style all the time.  To 'hardcore' gamers, that's too different and not violent enough.  So the game was ignored by the majority while the minority tried it and found a decent game that could have done with more characters, a better ending and a better final battle, and a lot more to unlock.

It happens and has been happening since the 90s.

First, you can't blame Hasbro for this. Atari made that choice since Atari generally designs for the PS2, sometimes for the Gamecube. Also Playstation has the largest market out there so they did reach the majority of gamers. They were able to up the production value by focusing on one system instead of spreading it out.

Activision has the rights to the Movie game and nothing has been officially announced so we really don't know what platform it will be on, but activision does have a history of multi-console development. Considering the time frame it should be on a next-gen console. And according to your own statements the logical choice for development is the Wii since the PS3 is overpriced, 360 underselling and PS2 falling apart :roll

Why do they have to be mass-shifting? Why is that such a major point?

Have you played any Gundam game? I have never found a single good gundam game, ever. most are ok to down right crap. Is that what you really? Games that are just spit out with little development really put into them? The Takara G1 game isn't that great. The gameplay is bad and the graphics are shoddy. Sure you'd have your beloved G1 characters, but it would still be crap.

With a property like Transformers you go with the most modern incarnation. That's what kids will recognise. We hardcore fans are the minority. This has been stated over and over. Companies will market to the largest audience possible. G1 has some nostalgia factor but has much has you think. Transformers is a kids franchise. Atari made a good game, it got good reviews, it just didn't connect.

I was hoping this thread would be about slaughtering peoples in the name of God. *sigh*
