MIB Fake Cyclonus on Ebay

Recommended Posts

Bidding started at $9.00, wonder how high this will get?  Sad thing is, the seller is saying it is a REAL USA release version, but pictures tell a different story:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=6064928999

I'd pay $20 for this, but I guarantee it will get high.  Some poor buyer is going to get jipped.

Bad thing is, the shipping is $30 and insurance is REQUIRED at $15.

Seller sure knows how to make his money.  What a jerk.

last one went for over $100 when AM posted it last week.

i spoke with that guy and he tought it was real he was pretty pissed when i told him

Dum-dee-dum...

Greetings,

This item is a fake. Made in mid to late 90s. Not official Hasbro, Takara or Sonokong product. Please revise/relist your listing or I will have to report this to Safe Harbour.

I haven't used Ebay's anti-fraud features in awhile. Does Safe Harbor still exist?

From:maksworkusa the sticker shows the name of cyclonus in chinese writing. it's the ORIGINAL US FACTORY transfoormers that had been brought to Chinese market over twenty years ago when it's not authorized to produce in any chinese factory yet, as you can see from the back of the box.

Seller won't even answer my emails now, and refused to cancel my bids.  DAMMIT!!

At least I was outbid, but I tried contacting the guy who is the high bidder and let him know the facts.

There is another one of these on Ebay right now, from a USA seller.  He peeled the sticker off the box, you can even still see where it was in the pic:  http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-Generatio...1QQcmdZViewItem

I'm gonna contact this guy next, maybe he doesn't really know.

that cyclonus is NOT a fake and NOT a reissue. In the early 1990's, somewhere in china or japan or somewhere over there they found a whole slu of g1 u.s. transformers. Only certain figures. Mainly most of them were Ironhide. So, what they did was put that sticker on the top right of the flap. They ARE g1 items but since they were found later they had that STICKER put on there.

what makes you say that, AFA? There were tons of G1 on the shelves in the early nineties in HK. This is evidenced in a HK movie from the 90s where one scene takes place in a toy store. The story isn't clear, but the most common theory is that the chinese distributors continued to produce the toys after the initial license.

Not KOs, not re-stickered, but unlicensed originals. In the case of cyclonus here, the nosecone is a little softer than the original, and the shoulder joints seem to be a little more loose.
