hasbro is cheating us

I'd say by 1995 Transformers was pretty much irrelevent/dead.  I don't think there had been any toys released in the US for a couple of years until BW restarted things.

YOU FORGOT G2?!

1991(or 2) to 1995.

No.  But, G2 wasn't particularly popular and pretty short lived in the US (Hasbro did continue releasing G2 TF toys in Europe up until BW, though).

G2 in the US lasted until 1995 or so. http://rapido-online.net/g2archive/us/thetoys/index.shtml

I think they got the start date off by a year though... I believe it started in 1992.

Hasbro

Pros:

- Has every character in Cybertron and more.

Takara

Cons:

- Galaxy Force didn't even have all show characters

Moledive and Blender are E-Hobby exclusives, and Hasbro dosn't have the white Sideways/Noismaize.

I just checked tfu.info.  The toys are listed as coming out in 1993 there too.

I could have sworn that the release dates of all of those toys should have been shifted by a year.  I remember the toy stores having no Transformers for the longest time.  Maybe it was becasue most of those late G2 guys were pretty poor sellers - I vaguely recall that the Cyberjets (cool as they were) seemed to go straight into the clearance bins.

I wish I knew more. G2 came out when I was like 6. I only had two G2 figures, little basic sized ones.

i just saw over at toy news international that hasbro has a weekly starwars question and answer with the fans. why not us havent we earned something like that?

And this is yet one more reason we're lucky we even have TFs. With as much complaining as this fandom does, as much criticism we can give, they still provide us what makes us happy. Even if we find a need to Starscream about it.

Here's an idea, you don't like how it's done? Do it yourself. And if you can't, deal with that fact. If you won't, then shut up.

You DO realize that Beast Wars basically saved TFs, right? TFs wouldn't be around today if BW hadn't sold in the quantities it did.

If BW tanked, Hasbro would've tried something else.  If they allowed the Kenner logo on  one of their core brands, they can't have been too sure about it....

Except that Kenner actually designed it and stuff. Kenner was still semi-independant at the time, it hadn't been fully absorbed by Hasbro, just owned by them.

Yep

And I Probably wasn't clear..remember how there were fans that called Beast Wars an abomination on the brand?

That is basically the same sentiment running on the Joe boards.  The reason I picked the Beast Wars analogy is because I honestly think Sigma Six will be looked upon as a primary factor in future successes for the brand, but right now there is a HUGE anti-S6 sentiment running in the JOe fandom, probably not too different from when Beast Wars was released.

I see hwat you mean.

I do wonder why they don't at least like the cartoon.... It's probably the only non-hokey as Powerglide GI Joe cartoon ever.

I'm confident the official date was 1992, I remember seeing ads for them next to GI Joe street fighter figures that were also 92.

G2 launched in 92 with the G1 repaints (Cars, jets, dinobots, constructicons, Prime) and expanded in 93 with minibots and new basic figures and Megatron
