Great job man.....can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.

Turbine, snow, can you explain how you go the the transparent background?

If you have photoshop, this is how it's done, atleast for version 7.0 that is :P

Either start a new file with a transparent background and make your picture. Then when finished, "merge visible" the layers and you should still see the checkered invisible layer in the background. If not, or if you are working with a picture you already made and you want to add a transparent backround, then do the following:

Go to layer , new, layer from background. It will seem like nothing happened. You should still only have one layer in your layer window. Now just select what parts you want gone, and hit delete. You should see the checkered background.

Now, when you go to save it, atleast on mine, there are three options: save, save as, and save for web.

Click the save for web option. If it's not there, it may be an additional option in the save as, or export arreas on a previous version. It will automatically reduce your image to a gif with 256 colors. Fortunately photoshop does a swell job at preserving original colors, see mine above. There is also a transparency option, and it should be defaulted to on since photoshop can tell you have transparency in your picture.

I hope that helps.

I also heard that paintshop pro has an option for tranparency too. I don't have it, but here goes:

Whatever part you want transparent, make it some obnoxious magenta or other color that is not used as part of the picture, (like the idea of a green or blue screen in movies). Then in one of the options menu you can select a particular color to be translated as transparent. To my knowledge this only works for .gifs

Mind you, that img's nearly 75kb big.. no way that could be a useable sig..

So, I have a question about all this guys. Do the entries have to follow all the signature stipulations for the site? or for the contest is the entry allowed to be over the file size limit?

damn thats some nice work

Here is the rule for size of the sig (demensions) "Signatures should be kept to an area of 500 pixels in width and 300 pixels in height (can be made smaller)".....their is no limit on File size (KB).

Other rules can be viewed at the top of the page. :thumb

Here's my contribution to the contest. I'm pretty proud of how this one turned out. I espeicaly like the little frase I put on it. I hope you all will think the same.

I'm gonna use an image tag thing in hopes that it'll make the image show up better.

Final Final version up now.

If it's against the rules to make changes, just tell me and I'll post up the older version.

Looking good Rodimus13......looks like the may contest is going to be way hot. :clap

Yeah, I was gonna point out your "Allways" :D

Not too shabby man. One thing I think that could improve it though, well actually I don't know how to improve it...I mean, the thing that looks slightly odd that you can look into, there that's it, is that the background is a little too washed out. I'm referring to the blue shade over the background figures. I think it's a neat idea, but something seems off.

Maybe you could make the background black, to be less of a contrast with the blue of Soundwave, leave the background figures in their original colors, and just fade them out with a layer mask. Just a suggestion while your fixing it anyways...
