Has Hasbro ever talked to you or any one around you about doing a Transformers Alternators Comic.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Not to me, but I heard that the the problem in using Alternators in comics was that [some?] cars'companies did give  rights only for the toys, but not for printed merchandising, like comics. I may be wrong though, I'm not into these things.

Aren't you interested in a Titaniums kind of comic where you can use all of the tf universe in it?

Hmmmmm, Have you drawn any other comics besides TFs? *Has blinders on when looking at other comics besides Transformers and Marvel stuff*

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well, before TFs I did some humoristic comics for a local magazine, basically parodies of comics/mangas, and movies... as well as a short Sci-Fi strip for a french magazine.

Also I prepared a horror-sci-fi project for 2 years, but again thanks a french publisher bankruptcy, the project died.... basically was very similar a videogame just released, I think "shadows of chernobyl"-- 2 character from that below:

and below a pic from my "Fist of North Star Ken" parody (AKA Hokuto no Ken), very very popular in Italy ;)

I've heard somthing like that.

That sucks.

What do you believe is the most rewarding part of your job?

(Cetain parts are highlighted to kind of emphasise the desire for a thought-out opinion, rather than your standard cliches.)

PS: Wow, that clarification was longer than the question!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

hard to say. It may sound again a "cliche" to you, but having the opportunity of working on TF stuff and seeing my name at the bottom of a TF product is a reward :) especially when i have the chance to workon any classic G1 pics -- after all I was a TF fan first!

Also I may add  that when an artwork turns out to be exactly what I had in mind, then I'm very happy. I think, to me is easier to please a fan with an artwork than myself. There are a few artworks of mine that I'm satisfied 100% with!

What other established series are you interested in drawing that you haven't already?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Sure. it would be a bit like "TF Universe" - a concept I loved, giving the opportunity of drawing different characters, like an Optimus Primal and a Starscream all  in the same book ;)

What's it like being involved with IDW, and how does it differ from your experience at Dreamwave?

Just a thing: complete creative control.

they allowed me to use every style and technique I wanted. and since I like to try alway different takes it's a great thing for me. Also, this show a great respect for an artist.

Also reguarding the movie, can you see a movie comic tie in happening?

I don't know about any plan, but hopefully it will be very likely to happen, most comic/cartoon realted movie got a comic treatment, so...

The only reason I'm bothering to ask is because earlier on as IDW was granted the license and at the same time the movie rumours were starting up there seemed to be a lot of animosity detween the DW camp and IDW. Just wondering if this will be smoothed out in the near future.

"animosity detween the DW camp and IDW"??...sorry I don't understand! Please explain

Also didn't say so before but you're doing an awsome job with everything. Definitely looking forward to Heart's of Steel. Finally an altogether new, and exciting approach. The character designs look incredible, and can't wait to see how it delivers.

Thanks!

Beast Wars. Pure love for me.

and G1 -But it would not be a good thing for you because I'd use the original cartoon model sheets :P

and this bring me to pose a question to you all, just for fun of course...

would do you like a comic continuation of the original G1 cartoon?

from where Rebirth stopped, (drawn like the '86 movie sort of anime style), so to indroduce Targetmasters, powermaster in a "US cartoon" way?

Just curious to know your feedback!

Or what about a series about the 20 years between the 2nd season and the movie?

I really meant outside of TFs but if this is still your answer to my question, that's good too.

:)

I'd love to see what happened during the 20 yrs. DW seemed like that's what they were going for at first.
