Well I'm in the minority. I actually think Megs looks pretty good. Considering of course I expected him to look like total crap after the first pics. First and formost the colours don't bother me a bit. The green is a bit intense but otherwise I really like the purple/green used. They flow nicely with the compulsery orange. Add the green and holy Blot you have Cybertron Megatron reborn. :thumb No doubt this would absolutely rock in C Galvatron colours but unfortunately you take what get.

 

Alt mode definitely screams Nerf but meh, he's a gun again, and at least has a more convincing alt mold than whatever the hell E Shockblast was supposed to be. What more do you people want? Bot mode IMO is decent. Head sculpt is as close to G1 as it gets, and the proportions are decent. Articulation looks good, and to top it off he has a big ass plasma canon on one arm. I don't get why it's such a big deal it's on the back of his arm, who cares, besides the arm can probably be twisted around to give him a G1 esque pose.

 

Anyways will definitely buy one, possibly two for the C Galvatron colours. :thumb

The wings are rediculous, let alone the green. Toss those out, and boom, instant non-ghey figure.

here's a REALLY CRAPPY photoshop I did, just to give an idea of where how the colors should've been different. And the red on the wings would be translucent.

I want the optimus gimme ... i also like the rodimus and starscream....but megs is blah..... tho looking at megs alt mode i dont see how the gun laws would apply to him...he doesnt resemble anything real whatsoever .... i think they just wanted to mess up the colors on purpose

the catalyst behind current toy safety laws re: guns was the shooting death of a child by a police officer... the officer saw the kid pointing a toy gun at him and thought it was real. So the idea is that toy guns should be instantly recognizable as toys even/especially from a distance. Which means that looking at it up close (as we have been doing all afternoon), it's definitely not going to look real.

 

it's the way things are, you can either complain or recognize that Hasbro did a cool thing by even bothering to make Megs a gun again in the first place.

I'm starting to like this Megatron.

 

Mostly because I'm seeing him as a sort of G1 Optimal TM2 Megatron.

When that third picture was revealed..I was hoping it was a sort of 'tank' mode to please both camps...

 

but the way I'm starting to picture it is; G1 Megatron starts timetravelling and universe hoping, bitchsmacking the sparks out of all the other Megatrons and becoming one. (Someone mentioned the color scheme was Armada-ish, the 'wings' on the back reminds me of BW Megatron, and the legs reminds me of floaty head(Megabolt) Megatron.)

 

I guess G1 Megatron bitchsmacked the spark out of Beast Megatron twice for taking his spark in Season 3.  :tflaugh
