I doubt that they'd go beyond the super super super well known characters.... Jazz, Ironhide perhaps...

most of the toys seem to be based on characters that appeared in the movie, as well as seasons 1,2, and 3 of the cartoon. the only major exceptions are Megatron, who didn't appear at all in Season 3, and Jetfire but Hasbro is probably relying on cross recognition of the AEC version of the character to sell the classics version. hell, classic Jetfire's head will probably bare a closer resemblance to the AEC version's head than that of the G1 version.

 

Edit: also, Astrotrain never appeared in Season 1 but practically everybody remembers his role in the movie.

The funny thing about them using the movie to promote this line is the fact that alot of folks didn't make it to the end of the movie. Then again, BB, HotRod, Grimlock and if they do Jazz and Cliffjumper, they did make it. Hmmmmm? There may be a theme. Maybe Kup, Arcee and Springer will show up. Not to mention the lazy ass White Optimus to Ultramagnus.

AGREE! If they are going for homage Maggy doesn't even need two robot modes. He could go from car carrier to big ass robot All at once.

no but they did play central roles and/or had memorable scenes. altho Prime and Megs didn't make it to the end of the movie, they did have one of the most iconic fights in the entire TF mythos. likewise, Starscream was in top form even to the point where he was blasted:

 

"Megatron, is that you?"

 

"Here's a hint!"

 

BOOM!

 

and even tho Astrotrain played a small role, it was still vital to the overall plot. if he didn't recommend for the cons to dump some weight while he was shuttling them back to Cybertron, Megs never would have met up with Unicron and get reformatted into Galvatron.

Wellllll....Like the Scion tC, Focus ZX3, Mini Cooper (although I doubt that'll ever make it), Mazda 3 hatchback, Chevy Cobalt SS, Pontiac Solstice, VW GTI (yeah right).  I think any of those would pwn the scion xA's ass....

Im with you. Base it off the '07 Jeep Wrangler and Im all up on that....

I would love to see a Classics Springer!  He's one of my all time fave characters and his G1 toy leaves much to be desired.  That "thing" they made in Energon that kinda sorta looked like Springer is just not good enough heh.
