as i said before, hasbro should reissue galvatron just for the sake of having both leaders being reissued. having a reissue prime but no reissue of a decepticon leader just doesn't make sense. and there's nothing wrong with galvy either. if soundwave was released, why would he be so expensive? isn't he just a normal transformer? i hjave read that his cassette player mode doesn;t really play cassettes. so why would he cost so much?

the takara reissue shoots bullets? obviously those fake plastic ones but how did they get that to work considering he transforms? and galvy isn't the worst toy ever. i have seen far worse. like those TFs that have pull-back motors.

Soundwave was a damaged mold that Takara had to repair, hence his higher price for his Takara reissue (about $55-60, compared to $40).

Again, I believe that Hasbro is reluctant to release him in the TRU series because of TRU's high markup on the series (the MSRP for the cars is actually $17.99, or so, the same as Rodimus Major's price, but because they have exclusivity, TRU marks the cars up to $29.99). It is entirely possible that if he was released in the CS, his price would be $49.99 or higher, more than most would be willing to pay for a 20 year old Transformer, thus he wouldn't be profitable.

It has been said repeatedly by Hasbro that they follow Takara's lead in the reissues. Until Takara does Galvatron, Hasbro won't release him. So you should blame Takara for no Galvatron.

so tru is trying to take our money. i see there's no point in a markup THAT high..... i still have yet to get a G1 reissue but i haven't yet due to insane prices. i searched ebay for G1 megs and found a very nice item. megs, galvy, sideswipe, and blurr lot for a mere $17.00. all original and come with their accessories. had i not been broke, i would buy it. other items list G1 megs at a whopping $80.00 which seems too high to me as no TF should ever cost more than masterpiece prime....

when was astrotrain released in japan? i really like him and want to know when he should be coming to the U.S. assuming he DOES come to america.

are some of the G1 megs bootlegs good? i've never been too fond of buying bootlegs but i may make an exception for megs....hence my name...... i see many of the same bootleg on ebay. are there durable ones out there? or do they all break easily?

That was just the starting bid. It probably ended more like $100 :tflaugh :tflaugh

If TRU feels that they can sell reissues at that price, they will. It is a simple matter of business decisions. And about 2 weeks ago, TRU had the reissues on sale, a handful were as low $15, most were $20.

Something I don't think you are understanding is that vintage Transformers ARE VALUABLE! (Why do you think that many old comics are valuable?) A relatively mint G1 Megatron with most of his accessories can easily top $100 loose. For many, $80 for an exact replica of G1 Megatron is a great value.

Astrotrain was released last January in Japan in the Dreamwave TF Collection. Chances are that we will be hearing something about his release at OTFCC, I personally see no reason that he wouldn't be released in the US, but bear in mind that TRU will probably charge $30 for him, and for just few dollars more you can get the Takara edition now.

I have never purchased one of the Megatron bootlegs available on eBay, plastic quality is a wild card and might be good or bad, so you are kind of on your own.
