...meaning that I think the first one was the best one

You Sir,....are smoking something.

Smokescreen was good because he was the introduction, but his transformation had all kinds of issues and his feet were the size of football fields.  Each bot since has had aspects of improvements on overall design.  One of Smokescreen's biggest problems was his tie rod placement.  It was in the way of the transformation and the connecting rods on the wheels made it difficult to transform the arms without popping them off.

Each bot we have got since has modified the techincal aspect of the transformation in some way and many times making improvements on the concept.

His feet aren't the problem for me. It's the ball jointed hips and the fact that the legs dont transform back to car mode with the precision of the RX8s. If he had hip, thigh and upper bicep joint like Skids, he'd be almighty. So far, Mirage is the first bot to have all the right joints. Skids would be perfect too if he had a waist that twists.

With the way the BT are being repainted lately, it may be drastically different in color scheme. Maybe even less attractive.

Rumors suggest Rodimus.

It Absolutely Does....

Although G1 Redux seems to hold promise....

Apparently, it's 'Mostly Yellow' , and is not even close to a Beetle.

Awsome pics and thanks. :thumb

LMH has either grown to old to be collecting toys or he just enjoys baiting people. Bites. Not too sure why you're now all high and mighty about the Smokescreen mold when not to long ago you were all over The Windcharger mold. :tflaugh Windcharger though is probably my least favorite mold to date. Basically everything done the way Sideswipe was only significantly wrong.

The Smokescreen is not bad overall but imo has more issues than any other alt to date with the exception of perhaps Grimlock who you basically have to pull to pieces and reconstruct as a robot while transforming it. I think the main obsession with the Smokescreen mold for people is that it's by far the closest to it's G1 namesake/transformation. Mostly in the legs where the bottom of the car actually forms the feet. The only other one to do that is the Jazz mold. Everything since has had feet which no longer act as a part of the alt mold and just flip down or pull down from some hidden compartment. Hard to explain it but I too feel this in some ways detracts from the genius of having the same parts serve a purpose in both molds. That and the rectangular feet are just too simple and just don't have the same feel as they would otherwise if they were a significant piece of the car.

On topic. Mirage looks pretty good, and it's nice to see the kibble on the back cleans up nicely. Also see they went with the G1 esque eyes for a change opposed to blue. The chest plate looks a bit off seting but overall he looks to have decent articulation and I love the dual pistol idea. :thumb Question can the dual pistol be used as one to give him a slightly larger weapon?

Definitely will get alongside Prime whenever available. :thumb

The 'mostly yellow' bit was specifically said by Don Figueroa.  The lack of similarity to a Beetle was hinted at.

I want to know why his feet look so big and goofy. I'm tired of those weird trapezoid feet.

And it must suck to walk around with tires on the front of your legs- not complaining, just that it'd be strange.
