Meh... I never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to get tired of seeing the same G1 rehashes over and over again, and I no longer find myself excited by the Nth incarnations of Megatron or Prime.  Maybe when some of the other molds start to surface I'll change my tune, but right now I'm just not feeling it.  I've collected pretty much all the G1 throwbacks from the last three series, and at this point I feel like the ones we've got are pretty sufficient.  I mean, how many Starscreams and Hotrods do we really need?  Now we're getting a whole line of them?

 

Having said that, I'm a HUGE fan of G1, and I would've been slobbering all over myself to get this news back in the Armada-era, but lately I find myself caring more about Masterpieces, Alts, Hybrids, and Reissues, which leaves little room for the rest of the filler.

This is why I don't like continuity resets.

Ongoing continuities like G1 at least allowed them to give us non Optimus leaders and whole new lines of gimmick figures without a single homage in sight.

You know, for all the Starscreaming in this thread you have to wonder why some people don't just by the reissues, and lock themselves in a room with the G1 dvd's.......

It's not a matter of me not being able to adapt, because I grew up with Megatron being a gun. I just always thought it was retarded.

 

That said, I don't really care what they do with Megatron for this line. I'm actually glad they're making him a gun because it's a nice homage (just a nice homage to a character I never liked). A tank Megs would have been out of place in a "Transformers Classics" toy line.

I don't care if Megs is a gun or not.  I just care that he's recognizeable as whatever he's supposed to be, and he barely qualifies given that scan.

 

My first thought was "I guess the first repaint will be Armada Lazerbeak."

Prime, on the other hand, is very promising.  Yeah, I'm bored to death of the character and the endless parade of trucks, but after most Prime toys lately, solid and simple isn't half bad to come back to, and it bodes well for the rest of the line.  One of the best combos of G1 kissingup, good articulation, and realistic altmodes in awhile.

I cant believe any one's complaining. I look at these shadows and think "Ultimate G1 Homage" Plus, from what I can make out, they look good. But what ever.

I think Megatron is really cool. We haven't seen a gun Megs since G1, and it's nice to see something original (well, inasmuch as an homage can be original). Ditto for Astrotrain. But Prime.......  MEH am I getting tired of that guy. Man! How many friggin' versions of him do we need???

 

I mean, I know you'd have to have him in this line, but man, I'm really getting tired of seeing him.

I love how the Gunn fans are getting so high and mighty... its... its like they dont even realize that IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!
