METAL!!!!

Recommended Posts

Going through my archives, I found some pitcs of things I made out of this METAL stuff I used to mess with.

Warning, do NOT try to melt down LEAD...its not only TOXIC, but its pretty useless since it bends and dents and is just crap.  There's my public service warning for the week.

The stuff I used was made for little kiddie molds and such, I found other ways to melt it, cast and damn near burn the house down.

Most noteworthy stuff I made back then was

Metal Optimus Prime fists.

Tons of Autobot Symbols

Some decoys (flat on back)

and a couple attempts at replacement heads.

I even made a mold of the small fake FT Max head and made that out of metal.

Once I made a replacement hinge for one of the newer T- Macross jets.  The backpack/wing pod hinge was broken when I bought it (hence a cheaper price) and I was able to make a mold of the hinge, and make a working hinge replacement..its no where near perfect but its still on the job 10 years later.

Metal is nothing to mess with.  I learned in Highschool how to smelt metal and use sand molds to pour into casts...but I don't have the right equipment, and using the kitchen stove or BBQ ain't cutting it.

Now a days I make things like the Autobot symbols out of clay.  Makes much better casts, and easier to work with.  Not to mention cleaner and nobody gets burnt.

Before I forget, that's the Soundwave Head from the real tape player, Prime head I think from the intercom set, and Starsabers sword.

Naw, just the lead one is, these shown were some kids toy, "Metal Molders" supposedly SAFE.  Only dangerous thing I did was melt it on the stove, rather than in the little machine thing.

I can probably do this with that crayon thing too.

JELLO?

I did it with Chocolate a couple times...
