When it stops feeling new...

Recommended Posts

. Yes I'm 29 now, and yes I believe that birthdays should be fun, not just socks and aftershave.

I'm the same age and think the same way... unfortunatly my wife is getting tired of me saying Transformers anytime she asks me what I want for my b-day or Christmas or w/e gift giving occasion.

As far as new-ness factor, depends on the figure. Some keep my interest much longer than others. Example: BT Skids is still one of my fav's after 3-4 months.

Air Attack Primal still feels new to me

I've had him for years and only discovered two nights ago that his flying noise changes pitch, etc. as you change his angle of attack.

I hope you know about his donkey punch sound

Ironically, I had kind of forgotten about that - and since you had mentioned it to me recently, I specifically got him down off of his shelf for some donkey punchin' action.

The only thing that's disappointing about AAOP is that he doesn't say, "I am Transformed."

INDEED

of course that would never work in real time unless you were like crazy good at transforming :tflaugh

too me i love every single one. though i must admit the cooler or more posable it is the more i enjoy it. also gimmicks, i never get tired of RID UMs whole switching weapons and combining with the ever flimsy optimus prime

I think the thrill of the hunt is what does it for me.  Waiting to see the toy in stores, or trying to win an auction is much more exciting to me then when I actually have the toy.

Case and point THS-02...still MISB and wrapped in the celo paper Japanese sellers seem to like putting toys in(which I love).

To an extent I have the same feeling, I like buying and to see the new figs in store.  A lot of time I just bought it and didn't open it until a couple weeks later.

Makes me want to dig out AAOP from my cabinet to play w/ the wonderfulness that is Primal.

He really is one of the best figures ever.

Nice, clean munky and robot modes that (more or less) resemble his show appearance and equipped with most of the same gimmicks he displayed in BM (jet pack, disc weapon that shoots from his belly), plus he has a voice chip with the show's actor.

First off I have to agree with what everybody's said about Energon Cliffjumper. Right now I have basically every Energon fig on display but no room for Cliffjumper who remains untouched in a large bin with IMO the other perhaps greatest disapointment in the line Omega Supreme. If Cliffjumper had been say a deluxe he would've been a lot better. :thumb

On topic. The day a majority of my TFs stop feeling new and don't hold interest is the day I dump them all off in the endcap. I personally don't do much more then pose em on a shelf but right now that's enough to hold my interest for the time being. FWIW I don't mind taking them off the shelves and playing with them it's just that after I do that I got transformers all over the floor and that entirely defeats having them on the shelf in the first place.

One thing I soon hope to do with my collection is to feature them in an ongoing picfic similar to what others have done. I have easily gotten my worth out of every single TF I own but with a picfic I can finally do something usefull with them. :thumb

Oh and for some strange reason or other I've been playing with minicons moreso than anything else in my collection. :wtf

cybertron landmine as my latest transformer is getting most attention. i guess it is untill i get a new tf
