I was wondering how long a new figure still 'feels' new to everyone.  Does it wear off when you buy your next transformer, or do some bots just hold your interest longer.  For example, my latest figures are C. Soundwave and Magmatron, yet Excellion still feels new to me after a few weeks.  How about the rest of you?

Ahh the novelty factor. It wears off after a few weeks, but I still think all of mine are cool.

 

Current flame is THS-02 which my folks got for my birthday. Yes I'm 29 now, and yes I believe that birthdays should be fun, not just socks and aftershave.

Depends a lot on the TF. Some figs survive getting a newer one, some don't. For example, I kept coming back to Energon Sledge, but Energon Cliffjumper was forgotten the moment I unpacked the next (which was Sledge, actually).

Yeah, Cliffjumper doesn't especially hold it for me either.  He's cool and all, but i see your point. I'd have to say my favorite size is probably deluxe, they hold my interest longer.  Something about the size.

Just let it set on your shelf for a bit. When you go pick it up again, it'll feel like new. Or atleast that works when you have a bunch to choose from.

I'm 26 and my parents got me BTA blaster for Christmas... I love how my mom was totally into it but my dad just rolled his eyes and laughed.  Yeah-- birthdays and christmas should be fun.

I hate to admit it, but for the most part, I am kinda the same way. I just got G1 Gnaw a few weeks ago (which I desperately needed to complete my G1 collection), and all I did w/ him was to TF him once then stick him on the shelf. I haven't even touched him since.

 

I think I pay more attn to the newer figures than the classic ones though. Any newly acquired G1 I get I just put on the shelf (like w/ Gnaw), but newer figures like THS Prime and C-Soundwave I tend to pull off the shelf and mess w/ more. Their transformation is more fun and interesting, and you can "play" w/ them more than older toys.

 

Primus is another example of one I keep coming back to. I keep grabbing him and just posing him and sometimes TFing him. For some reason I really like that one. Cool figure.

for me its a week or two. But often as soon as i have the next TF the last goes back in the box or in with the others from the same line

for me since i'm non stop adding stuff to my collection, a figure seems new for about a month then it gets shuffled into the shelves to live his life.
