What glue to use?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what glue I should use for glueing some parts on a kit-bash...

Depending what I'm doing, I may use either standard model liquid cement (the stuff I use is made by Testors), or some form of crazyglue/superglue.  I have yet to try Devcon Plastic Welder as Wraithverge recommended in the IGTKB, as they don't seem to sell that in Canada (I may be wrong, though).

What about plastic cement? My other option is regular Elmer's school glue.

Plastic cement = liquid cement.  :thumb

OH, ok so I should have no problem for what I want to do. :clap

I use Devcon Plastic Weld. I have yet to have a complaint about using it.

I buy mine at Wal*mart in the hardware/silicone sections

I'm going to use Plastic cement since I already have some. Thanks anyway :thumb

Trust me, Devcon Plastic Welder will not break and is sculptable.  I have used it to revive broken transformers from ebay and my childhood (just ask g2 snarl and g2 superion!).  I highly recommend it, it's less than $3 at WalMart.

Yeah, plus liquid cement/plastic cement has a tendency to dry out and become brittle. If you plan on "handling" your work, you'll be highly upset if something breaks off later on after you're all done with it. (I speak from experience) JMO though.

Superglue didn't work so good for me, after a while, it made the plastic white.
