what brought you back?

I got out around the time the Pretenders started. Saw the BW/BM toys and didn't really like them. What got me back was the brothers from RID. They looked pretty good, and it was cars again!! :clap

Optimal Optimus was my first TF since the death of Prime so long ago. I bought BW figures every now and then but When I saw pics of FireCovnoy and CarBros from a japanese toy show before they were actually released I freaked and Imported every thing I could find of CarRobots. Ive been import crazy ever since, just ask Contessa!

BEASTWARS! I bought waspinator on a whim one day because i hadn't seen any transformers related figures out for a while. Before the next month was out, i had all the season 1 figures.

Beast Wars resurrected the Transformers! :tfgrin

RID Movor :tflaugh1

I always wanted to get a complete combiner set and the combaticons were always my favortites so when RID came out I knew I had to get them. Once I got them all I wanted more and got some RID tfs like Galvatron and from there I've been into collecting on a very consistant basis :tflaugh

I shudder everytime I hear someone refer to themselves or others as "TRUE TF fans", if you enjoy it at all then who can argue if you're true or not?!?

Anyway, I gave up on G2 after Rotor FOrce showed up. Years later I caught the third episode of Beast Wars by coincidence, liked the show enough that I thought I'd give the toys a chance and buying that GatorMegs VS BatPrimal set opened the door for me again. I snatched up Machine Wars, obsessively collected Beast Wars and watched the show with religious fervor. BW prompted me to buy back my childhood and totally revamped my perspective on TF. Now putting them in storage isn't something I do by choice, because they outnumber me to the extremes to I HAVE none.

The second season of BW revived my interest and I was very happy when I found Optimal Optimus in Andorra during fieldwork. I only started collecting again with RID.

I would say Beast Wars in the late 90s. I got into it late and watched the reruns late night after work. I hated the Animal TF's, but the story line was much better than G1 and G1 was awesome!

I also loved the fact that Beast Wars is the continuing saga to the "Great War".

Toywise? Ebay! seeing all those G1 diecast cars woke me up again.

I never gave up, I just went through an akward stage from 90 - 2000 when I actually gave a Blote about what people thought about me, so I didn't buy anyhting. BUt now I don;t care cause I know I am not the only one.

I second that. I went through the same phase (duh)...you know the girlfriends, college, and being in "prison" all day (the workplace).

I'm an old foggy, but I walk around with my Hot Topic Soundwave t-shirt without a care and I get alot of comments.

Still, I wish I kept all my Transformers, Joes, comics, and baseball cards from a time when it was fun to be alive. It's all work and worrying when your old :tdown

Beast Wars.

I saw Magnaboss and Tripredicus at a store one day and remembered how much I loved G1 combiners. I've been hooked ever since.

Tripredicus, that was the name of that one. I've got that one at home and I asked on another thread if anyone could remember it's name. Thanks for that. But that wasn't what got me back.

The Beast Wars series sparked my imagination again, and I watched it religously, but the toys never quite measured up for me. I bought a couple of transmetals, but they didn't get me too excited.

RID looked real cool, and I was tempted to buy those a couple of times, in fact went to buy Sideburn once but he was sold out. I got over it.

Then one day I walked into a shop and saw Alternator Sideswipe...WOW! And about the same time I saw 20 Anniv Prime on the net. Double WOW.

I have spent $250 NZ on those two plus Alternator Smokescreen in the last month. (Everythings more expensive over here). I will get all the Alternators, that's for sure.

Watched BW's off and on, but an impulse buy of the movie at my Gamestop got me searching eBay for the old figs, then fansites etc. Totally snowballed. Three years later and I'm still hanging around.
