great idea :thumb but your paint is in need of a little help. on smaller sized bots (9.99 and below) I find its easyest if you just hand paint them rather then spray.   If you did hand paint it...dude I feel for you white and yellow are my baines. they never look good when i do 'em

I always handpaint my transformers...Currently working on an Energon Dark Inferno.

Needs more towel.

Sorry have to be frank, but your Artfire looks like the Meltmobile. The paintjob is atrocious, I really pity Inferno. You have a long way to go. If you have something to show to the world, it best be something you know people would like.

Glad you posted and decided to share your work man!  It's pretty clear the guys are honing in on your paint application.  If you are willing to revisit this piece, I would suggest giving your paint a sparring partner - sandpaper.  I handpaint all of my customs, and I have found that sandpaper can sometimes be the difference between a smooth and a rigid brush job.  Mutiple coats of paint also prevent the original color from showing through. :tfgrin

 

My process has been a base coat>top coat>sand>top coat>sand>and repeat until a good finish is aquired>then I add a top coat of clear acrylic (I only use acrylics) paint to give my pieces a layer of simulated clearcoat for a subtle shine, but also for a protective layer.
